      Hi dear parents,

Some quick question, does this year PSLE consider harder than last year. If yes, would it lower down the COP of the schools?
      t-score is a statistical distribution.
Regardless of the difficulty of the PSLE, the curve should remain the same, i.e. a normal distribution. The difficulty of the exam has very little bearing on the distribution of the scores.
COP should remain approx. the same with minor changes (+ - 2 points) due to shift in demand / supply of some schools.

        Dear Parents,

My DD t-score is 254 +3 with option to choose SAP schools.

Looking at IP stream, the choices are limited.

        My option for choices:
        1.Cedar IP
        2. DHS IP
        3. Cedar O
        4. TJC
        5. Nan Chiau
        6. ?

        Any opinions?
If really want IP can consider the following to take advantage of the +3 for SAP, I assume Cedar is the preferred choice

Cedar Girls’ Secondary School IP (girls) – 254
Dunman High School IP SAP (co-ed) – 255
CHIJ St. Nicholas Girls’ School O-levels SAP (girls) – 253
Singapore Chinese Girls’ School IP (girls) – 252
        Temasek Junior College IP (co-ed) – 249
        Cedar Girls’ Secondary School – O-levels (girls) – 249

DHS traditionally has a higher COP than CGSS. Putting it after CGSS is kinda meaningless since if you get CGSS, DHS is redundant; if you don't get CGSS, you are unlikely to get DHS as well.
You should consider SCGS as your no. 3 choice after DHS/CGSS.

          Therefore:
          1. DHS
          2. CGSS
          3. SCGS
          4. TJC
          5. Cedar O
          6. NCHS

4 IP choices out of 6 (with 2 of them nearly bao jiak) is not considered 'limited choices' for IP stream :scratchhead:

Hi Emoh, actually B and C are Christian schools (Maris Stella and St. Andrew) ,which we preferred, but they are in the East while we are staying in the West. They will take 40 to 45 mins to get there with at least one change in MRT or bus. While A is walking distance from home. Do you think it is worthwhile ? Son is only child easily infleunced by his peer. Thanks a million.

A is Clementi Town ? Its a good school. Bring him to the schools to have a feel of the place and let him have a say. Make him take public transport so he knows how is it like if it involves travelling 45 mins daily.

Hi Lego, what would be considered very safe ? A difference of how much from tscore and COP. Thanks.

If the schools take more than what they used to do (unlikely), COP will increase due less places available.
If the schools accept a similar number to previous year (highly likely), COP will remain the same.
If the schools take less than previous year (possible for some schools), COP will decrease.

                    Perhaps 5 points ?

I go like this for number of points abv COP.

                      1. 5pts
                      2. 5pts
                      3. 3pts
                      4. 3pts
                      5. 7pts
                      6. 7pts

Hi, COP of schools would not fluctuate very much.
Personally, I won’t put in anything that is more than 5 points below my child’s t score and limit to to last choice.
It is just a safety net, you probably won’t need it if u have put in yr first 5 choices sensibily but just in case u have speculated on how the COP will go and it didn’t turn out as expected, u are somewhat insured.
