Dear All, I know this will not have answer till 19/12/18, but can your share with your prediction with your school scoring, any prediction whether COP will remain, decrease or increase for this year ?
It depends.
The most popular schools, i.e. COP > 240, are most likely to remain the same. If they do change, wouldn't be more than + - 2 points.
Schools with COP between 200 and 220 tend to see greater fluctuations. -

2.1 The ESIS are awarded to Singaporean students who are in the top one-third of the total number of Secondary 1 students admitted to all IS, based on PSLE results (before bonus points).
2.2 It is also awarded to Primary 6 Gifted Education Programme (GEP) Singaporean students who meet the P6 GEP promotion criteria and are enrolled in the Integrated Programme (IP) of an IS at S1.
You won't get the ESIS if you choose the O Level track. -
I need some advice , my kid cut off point is in between. Most of the choices in my neighbourhood have quite high cut offs.
What is the variant for entry into a school? Eg the cut off point is 235, my boy got 3-5 points less, should I even try as 1st choice? School is next door to my home.
Does it make sense to choose a school outside of my neighbourhood just because it is a safe bet? (based on cut off point t-score, son meets and should have no problem getting in)
really at a loss and not sure what to do. -

So if your dd is gep she doesn’t need 260 to qualify for ESIS this year -

There's no harm in putting a school with higher COP in the first and second choice. No one will know how the COP may change until the posting exercise is over. Posting is by merit.I need some advice , my kid cut off point is in between. Most of the choices in my neighbourhood have quite high cut offs.

I believe a significant number of secondary students in Singapore are attending schools outside their neighbourhood (otherwise, Bishan would be producing a significant number of top students). I don't see why it doesn't make sense to choose a school outside of your neighbourhood if it meets your COP and is your preference. -
DS got 261 + 2, I’m planning for the following choices:
1. RI
2. Hwa Chong
3. ACS (independent)
4. Dunman high
5. Victoria
6. Temasek JC
Greatly appreciate your advices on the above choices. Is the sequence of choices alright? And most likely which school will he get?
Thanks a lot in advance!!! -
If u put ACSI #3, if s1 posting computer post your son into IB, u sure confirmed u prefer IB curriculum, over A level in choices #4 to #6 ?

@floppy, based on your judgement, any prediction for COP between 230-240? Increase or decrease... Thxvectorbiz:

NJCMGS:
DS has scored 254. What would be chances for ACS (I) IB? Any feedback on SJI (IB program) is also welcome!
Hello NJCMGS,
https://www.sji.edu.sg/ takes place this afternoon, 23 Nov 2018, 2-4pm.sadhuvish:
Hello sadhuvish,DD has 254 cutoff. Is it safe to opt for NJC and cedar as first and second choices? If she is not eligible for both, will she surely get into Temasek JC?
I'm not certain how accurate this online information is, but if you were to reference https://www.tutorchen.com/top-sec-schools-cop-eesis-cop/ here, there is chance. Good luck!
