It is posting based on their detailed aggregate scores in the PSLE that extend to decimal points.
Merit comes before choices.

The article doesn’t clearly specify if they are describing the old or new system. Hence the confusion for newbies like me. Different people suggest different things. Some say that it is based on the choices order. So, I would like to get advice from this forum before we make an irrevocable change.

I know our media is ranked 154th and occasionally promotes fake news by the Government, but in this case, they are quite clear and accurate. -

It depends.
The most popular schools, i.e. COP > 240, are most likely to remain the same. If they do change, wouldn't be more than + - 2 points.
Schools with COP between 200 and 220 tend to see greater fluctuations. -

I need some advice , my kid cut off point is in between. Most of the choices in my neighbourhood have quite high cut offs.
What is the variant for entry into a school? Eg the cut off point is 235, my boy got 3-5 points less, should I even try as 1st choice? School is next door to my home.
Does it make sense to choose a school outside of my neighbourhood just because it is a safe bet? (based on cut off point t-score, son meets and should have no problem getting in)
really at a loss and not sure what to do. -

There's no harm in putting a school with higher COP in the first and second choice. No one will know how the COP may change until the posting exercise is over. I believe a significant number of secondary students in Singapore are attending schools outside their neighbourhood (otherwise, Bishan would be producing a significant number of top students). I don't see why it doesn't make sense to choose a school outside of your neighbourhood if it meets your COP and is your preference. -
DS got 261 + 2, I’m planning for the following choices:
1. RI
2. Hwa Chong
3. ACS (independent)
4. Dunman high
5. Victoria
6. Temasek JC
Greatly appreciate your advices on the above choices. Is the sequence of choices alright? And most likely which school will he get?

If u put ACSI #3, if s1 posting computer post your son into IB, u sure confirmed u prefer IB curriculum, over A level in choices #4 to #6 ?
