School bookshop only accepts cash when buying textbooks? And I buy uniform from the same bookshop?

I read that the HCI bookshop is actually a Popular outlet? Wonder if I can use other payment methods eg. credit card, popular vouchers etc? 🙂

[Update: I called Popular HCI to ask. They accept popular vouchers. So parents with extra vouchers can utilise it to buy uniform or textbooks there.]

Speaking of which, not sure whether practice this is still allowed, but if your DS if definitely going to be posted to HCI (DSA CO and accepted), I'd recommend purchasing books and uniform before Sec 1 Registration Day to avoid the queues and save some hassle. Then all you'd need to do during Registration Day itself is basically show face and then can go home 😄

imo best check with the school if they still allow non-students (for now) and parents into the school

They do allow non-students and parents into the school compound. if walking in, u need a valid ID as it is scanned at the entrance. The bookshop is geared up for the DSA crowd. Credit card and Popular membership all can be used but not further discount uniforms and supplies.
Can I ask the parents with Sec 1 DSA kids, is registration day just show face to do admin work and thereafter be done? I know it was so with the ex-P but not sure if same with current P.

That was the case last year. If you have already purchased the books and uniform, then just report attendance on that day. You will be given a file with admin forms and info about the orientation week. You’ll also receive details of your third lang choice. For those DSA non-gep students posted to iSpark, there was a short brief on that day too.

Hi may I know usually when will the secondary one orientation be held? Would it be before school commences on 2nd Jan or after?

Would it be advisable to purchase the books and uniforms in advance? Any house t shirt/consortium shirt to purchase? Thanks

SOO is usually conducted first week of school, i.e this year it's probably 2 to 4 Jan (and since 3 days only, probably full days as well) Thereafter, First Day of School is on the 7th, and Sec 1 Induction Day (or something like that) on the 8th, so proper lessons probably will only start on the 9th. (also means no need to bring all the heavy books on 7th)

Books and uniforms will all be purchased during the registration day (20th Dec) while classes (and therefore consortia) are only revealed to students on the last day of orientation (so no need buy any consortium shirts etc.)

                Hope this helps!

hopefully it's 3 days ... sometimes it might be 5 days, if I remember correctly.
Sec 1 Symposium for the parents is on 12th Jan (Sat). Consortium tees (for the boys) will take a while to be sold to them. Boys need to wear uniform on 4 days of school and dress down (ie tees) only on Friday so do buy enough.

On reporting day 20 Dec, are parents allowed to drive in and park at their carpark?

Parking : can call the school to ask. usually parents are allowed to drive in and park along the driveway and they may open Gate 3.

What to wear on 20th Dec : primary school uniform
