For my dds, we don’t revise during sch holi (actually we don’t revise much cos I believe more in spending time to pursue passion too).

Because I know once sch starts, pace would be hectic as sch will attempt to complete all syllabus by mid year. For P5 year end, we let them relax and recharge. They did the following in terms of priority:
      - complete sch assigned holi hw (can be quite a lot)

      - go for their Chinese tuition special class on oral and compo

      - pick up a new sport

      - active in cca and personal devt (like join holi activities like volunteering )

      - do their own things
      hi Imp75,

can share what kind of holiday volunteering activities are good for P6 students, entering Secondary school education ? Thank you

For primary to secondary age children who can play portable musical instruments or sing Christmas carols, they can sign up with Salvation Army to help raise funds.

Some of my friends kids prepare a Christmas repertoire on violin/guitar to perform while another volunteer rings the bell and thanks the passers-by who donate at the collection point. U know those red Salvation Army collection tins at shopping malls during this season.

            Hi parents ,

My son results dropped from SA1 to SA2.
Average drop per subject is 10 to 15 marks.
Whenever I sit down with him to do revisions he tend to fidget around not focusing as such we will end up unhappy.

Therefore I decided to outsource all to tuitions.

However seeing him having to go to so many tuitions , my heart ache. And of course I also not sure if this will work.

And I will also like to us if any of you have a good Math tutor to recommend in choa chu kang area.

            TIA

                Dear Parents,

I am an ex-MOE teacher with 14 years of teaching and tutoring experience. Through feedback from many students who had taken previous PSLEs, practicing and understanding past years’ questions are fundamental to expand their skill sets and get used to the vocabulary used by SEAB in the questions. This will also enable students to handle the exams better with less pressure due to time constraints during their own exams.
I will be undertaking a personal project in the coming year to reset parallel PSLE Math questions for Standard Mathematics from years 2009 - 2018 using similar language. I will also provide detailed discussions and explanations on the concepts each question is testing as well as the best solutions to use.
Please drop me a WhatsApp message with your email address at 92792813 if you are interested to take up an active role to prepare your child/ward to achieve A/A* for Math in next year’s exams.
                Thank you.

This is the best time to troubleshoot. Not every child has the same problems. Your child is probably tired of studying, but it is important for him to realise the importance and effect of studying. Imagine yourself having \"studied\" a lot and yet scoring 10 marks below your usual. It's depressing.

It's not easy, but the most important thing is for your child to see and feel excited about the interesting thing about studying. Sometimes getting the right tutor may solve the problem. Other times its a matter of talking sincerely with him to find out what is wrong.

the jump from p4 to p5 can be rather drastic.

it is demoralising if the child has put in a lot of effort to see a drop…I agree with Chief on this.
the school exam may be set much harder. moving on to p6 next year, remember PSLE being the big picture. don’t get burnt out too early.
not that CA and SAs are not important, but they can be used as a form of revision.

Speed is a new P6 Maths Topic. Will it be tested under P6 SA1 or Prelim (SA2) ?
