My girl and many of her friends stayed at boarding during their Sec 4 final exam, my girl said she can “concentrate” better . Yes daily 3 meals are provided

        lee_yl:
The sec 2 girls have to take turns to stay at the boarding house or will the whole cohort stay in the boarding house at the same time?

Daily 3 meals will be provided or the girls will have to do own their cooking?

This reminds me of my days staying at the Uni hostels. 😂

During orientation day, I overheard a mum telling another mum that her elder girl was staying at the boarding house as she spent long hours in school. So everyone can just apply to stay at the boarding house as long as they like??

I believe there is a case of food poisoning in the boarding school programme and quite a big handful of girls got hospitalised.

It’s reported that the school was working with the relevant government agencies to investigate the cause of the incident.
But so far nothing came out of the investigation.

They reported that 110 students fell ill with diarrhoea and stomach aches over the past week.
Can’t really remember which year but I remember is just recently. It was in the TV news and parents panicked.

          FYI....

Thanks PHP and Song22 for your sharing.

It is a good suggestion and I will keep in mind that come year 4 onwards, if need be, I will consider sending my girl there. I used to stay in Uni hostel, not so much worried about lack of concentration issues but rather, I do not want to waste time on the traveling.

@abachee, yes, we heard about the food poisoning case. As long as we consume outside food, it is not within our control. In fact, after reading your post, I was very careful while preparing the X’mas meal this evening for my guests, especially while making smoked salmon salad, lol. 😓

The first three days of activities schedule has been provided to the kids in the blue file on the reporting day. I don’t think there will be time for active teaching of syllabus. Just bring pencil case, calculator and maybe foolscap will do. And in Sec sch, I think the teachers treat the girls as adults and won’t be too concerned if they didn’t bring textbook etc.
