Rgps average mean score (235), is inclusive of the two P6 GEP classes.

Anyone know what's the average mean T-score alone, for 2018 P6 (born 2006) Mainstream students, if strip off the GEP portion ? After all, there are many more P6 Mainstream classes, compared to only 2 GEP classes.

School did not show the breakdown of result between Mainstream and GEP. My gal graduated in 2017, % above 250 was 50.17%, with average T-score 243.24. Students with 4 A* was 13.62%, while students with 3 A* was 17.94%.

My brother is considering RGPS for his kid this year. But we heard that RGPS is becoming less focused on academics in the recent years and some friends told us in the next few years, expect RGPS' PSLE results to drop! Any current parents can share your views on this?


We have a close friend whose child got high 90% in P1 last year but did not get any award. Does this mean RGPS stopped giving the Edusave Outstanding Academic Achievement award for top 25% for the Primary 1 last year or the standard for P1 is VERY high?

Anyone knows what overall % will get top 25% or top 10%? Thanks!

You don't need to worry about whether your daughter fall under Top ( 10 or 25 percent ) anymore, because starting wef this year 2019, no more exams for p1, p2 not Just in Rgps, but across all primary schools in Sg, a directive from MOE.

Not sure where you heard it from, it might be true but this' year's PSLE results is not too bad avg. T score is 235 with 38% getting 250 or more.Whichever school your bro's DD goes to end of the day its DD results that matter, not the school's results.
PSLE will change in 2021 so the yardstick will be different, for better or worst anyone's guess.

There is no Edusave Outstanding Academic Achievement award, are you referring Edusave merit bursary which is awarded to the top 25% of that level, subject to good conduct and total household income less than $6,900.
So if your friend's child do not meet the any of the criteria, she gets nothing from govt.

Thanks sob7. Sorry got confused. It should be Edusave Certificate of Academic Achievement for top 25% of that level. I remember my niece got one such certificate, no cash award or voucher, but just a certificate even though their household income is way above $6900. Very odd!

Which is why we thought maybe my BFF's gal's high 90% does not qualify for top 25%.

So there is a drop from 2017 to 2018, but should it be attributed to the school or the SG cohort in 2018?

PSLE more difficult?
Cohort is close in terms of academic ability?
mean score higher, SD narrower affecting PSLE scores?
Less outliers in the lower end of the bell curve?

From the COP for 2019 seems there is a definite shift in the distribution bell curve, as seen in the increase in COP for mid tier schools and the decrease for some top schools.

Results aside I feel RGPS is a good school as they provide a holistic environment for the child to grow academically as well as instilling character and values.
The teaching staff there is doing a good job under the Mrs Yue

In some area the awards are given out very late. some as late as March or April. Perhaps you can call up the district community town council to check.
