Yes. With the recent changes in the last 6 years, it appears that PRs have much more muted chances than before to get a local school. Of course if your kid is already in a bisexual school, it would be a breeze to get your 2nd child in the same school, but you must get through the first hurdle.

Staying in the Bukit Timah area is not ideal for PRs looking to get into a local school because even Singaporeans have to fight tooth and nail for the most popular schools there. Have you tried Bukit Timah Primary?

Thanks for your response - I will schedule a visit of Bukit Timah Primary. I've checked the ballot history and seems at 2C last year they were not 100% filled. But I'm not sure if that even means PRs >2KM gets a look in? Any ideas?

gracias!

Elizkt,
Yes it means that PRs outside 2km can get in without balloting .

Hi,

We are currently staying in Woodlands and just got our BTO recently that will be completed around 2023 in Punggol. Can I use the new BTO address for P1 registration this year for my snake daughter (born in 2013)?

We are in dilemma now whether to send her to Woodlands Primary School which we are half way through our PV or send her directly to primary school in Punggol. If we can't use the new BTO address, does this mean we have to rent a unit there first? What are the chance of success if we were to do a transfer in 2023 to schools in Punggol given there are more BTO or housing projects coming up? Schools that are within 1-2km to the new BTO are Oasis Primary, Punggol View Primary and Punggol Cove Primary. Those schools are rather new so we are not very sure how established they are by now.

Plan A: starts her P1 at Woodlands Primary School first and transfer to Punngol in 2023 when the new house is ready
Plan B: To start her P1 at Punngol directly (either using BTO address or rent a unit)

Would appreciate your advice and suggestion.

Based on MOE FAQ:
The new home address can be used provided that you are able to produce evidence from the relevant authority that you have committed to the purchase of this property. In addition, you have to sign a letter of undertaking to move into the new property within two years of the child's entry into Primary One (P1).

The following is based on last year's (2018), you just have to add one to each number for the policy this year.
In the case of Housing & Development Board (HDB) flat, the 'New Flat' printout from My HDBPage is required. For the 2018 Primary One (P1) Registration Exercise, the Delivery Possession Date (DPD) must not be later than 31 December 2020.

To retrieve the ‘New Flat’ printout from My HDBPage, you may perform the following steps:

1. Log in to My HDBPage
2. Select ‘My Flat’, followed by ‘Application Status’ and ‘New Flat’.
3. Print out the ‘New Flat’ page.

A child who has made use of the DPD home-school distance category priority to secure a place in a school is required to stay at the new address for at least 30 months starting from the time the family moves into the property. For example, if the child registers in 2018 and only moves into the new address in July 2020, the 30 months stay period starts from July 2020.

If your DPD falls slightly beyond 31 December 2020, you may approach MOE for assistance and we will assess your situation on a case-by-case basis.
Thanks floppy for your reply. Looks like we are not able to use the new bto address for registration. 😞
Got to find a place to rent asap.. super stress..

Does anyone know where we can find data on the 2018 registration for entry in 2019. Seems like the data here on this website has not been updated since August 2017. Although some schools publish this data on their school websites, others do not. Many thanks in advance.

Hi all,

I am staying at BoonKeng area. Anyone shares the ballot history for Hong Wen school last year?
What is the chance to get in HWS at Phase 2C for SC within 1km?

Thank you.
My cousin registered her daughter in 2C phase last year... D family stayed within 1km n requires to ballot. If I m not mistaken, it was a 25% chance... n she was lucky...

System won’t let you enrol for 2C unless you withdraw your 2B seat first (must withdraw in person at the 2B school).

If unable to secure a school after Phase 2C, you will have to try again in Phase 2Cs. If still unable to find a place after Phase 2Cs, MOE says:

Parents of Singapore Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident children who have not obtained a school place after Phase 2C Supplementary can request MOE to facilitate your child's placement to a school which still has vacancies.

where can we all find the 2018 P1 ballot history ? Here only have till 2017 ballot results.

btw, p1 registration is based in NRIC residing address correct? as our BTO will only be ready next yr, and we are not sure when will we be shifitng in as we have plans to continue stay in our current place (which is in laws’ place) since their are main caregiver for our kids. .so we may leave our new flat vacant for first 1~2 yrs…
