For MT - there is this question where a boy was sitting in front of a table full of meat, fish, veggie and rice. Kid is expect to describe the picture in words. Correct answer is \"chi fan\" but my dd wrote down \"shi wu\" which is wrong of course. When I asked her y not \"Chi fan\", she said \"I checked, the boy didn't open his mouth in picture, how to eat !!! :stupid:

ha ha ha !! How to scold Or be upset with our lovely and innocent kids ?

        good morning!

yes all the papers were back y'day but we still don't have the
Paper 1 marks for both Eng & MT......
and yes, my ds did badly only for Maths which obviously
he did not put his heart in it becoz there were many many
        silly mistakes..... :?:

so, congrats Anna, for your ds's good results for Maths....
I think he probably mistook the 7 as a 4; and he then told
you he had 46 i/o 76..... never mind la, let this be a good
lesson for both parent & child.

let's enjoy our hols tat's coming this june.... :celebrate:

Hi Buds, fully agree that to make learning \"fun\" is not easy. Efforts required from teachers, parents and kids. But I find the education system here extremely stressful. For instant, DLS SA P1 - Maths; is it necessary to twist & twist the questions till kids can't understand, confused and feeling lousy in getting low marks ? Seriously, after reviewed the exam questions last night, I really pity our young P1 kids. To pass the exam should have no problem but to score full or high marks it is quite challenging.

          you are so right mvelle09.
At least yr dd does well in her maths.....
          mine....sigh...... 😢 but honestly, i feel this
paper was really tricky...... so wat to say???
Buck up lor for the next exams.... 😐

I reviewed my son’s exam papers yesterday. I noticed that 1 math question is more to IQ test instead.

There is a picture of triangle, round, square, rectangle.
1st: triangle (biggest), round, square, rectangle (smaller than triangle)
2nd: Round (biggest), triangle, square, rectangle (smaller than round shape)

My son told me that teacher said only 6 out of 29 students attempted this question correctly.
My son answered it correctly but the first look I saw this Q I also ??? (how to answer?)

My son’s English test scored the lowest compare with Math and MT. I found the SA1 is good for us to brush up our kids’ weaknesses. Otherwise, come to SA2, we will be shocked.

Do you know that they have MT story telling at the stage (hall) yesterday? There were 2 students from each class asked to go to stage to tell story voluntarily.

Heard from P3,P4 parents, for MT - streaming starts after SA1 in P1. And for overall results - streaming starts in P3, 2 top classes. P1 classes will remain the same in P2.

However, not sure what is the arrangement like for P1 this year.

Hey mummies, has anyone seen the paper 1 for English and MT ?

Btw, I won’t attend the parent teacher meeting on 26th, can someone help to obtain the average score of MT from subject teacher. Dd didn’t do well so need to know the average as guideline. Thanks.
