I didn’t complain - how did you assume I did?

I’m just watching on the sidelines, like everyone else.

After this incident, Principal can amend NYGH school rules, add in one more new rule :

no colored bra allowed in school, only allow white or beige colored bra, because school uniform is all white, thus whatever under-garment student wear underneath, can be clearly revealed, apart from white or beige color.

I think this issue is over-hyped, now that all the key information has been shared. Those affected will deal directly with the school (and P) if there are still concerns not resolved (and we need to respect that, because not everyone is affected to the same extent), while those not affected directly can use this as a teachable moment in their own ways.

Sometimes I wonder, if this incident didn’t happen in NYGH but happen in other "less popular" schools, would the same spotlight of such intensity be shone on this matter? Although in principle, I believe that what the teacher had done was not appropriate, no matter which school was involved or what circumstances the teacher was under at that moment.

We must learn to distinguish between facts and opinions.

Fact is what has happened and what actions the school has taken.
Opinions - everyone is entitled to their own and they are influenced by many factors.

If my child is still with the school, I would be glad that the message sent to my girl through actions taken by the school is clear. (This is an opinion)
As for shuangbaoma’s statement that some NY girls did not tell their parents about it, I don’t see why that is an issue. (This again is my own opinion)

While we can all decide what are the teachable moments (personally, I will add 谣言止于智者, don’t post if u are unclear and that applies to adults too 🦆 ), I hope parents in the forum do not use this uniform check incident to bash NY girls or the school unnecessarily.
This will increase tension between schools.
Let the NY community handle the issue among themselves.

                    lego,

You’re good in bringing point to distinguish facts & opinions. You speak rarely but when u do share, it’s words of wisdom. Thank you.

After reading incidents & those who like to fan & stir discord & unhappiness attacking shld be highlighted, just as lee_yl had shared her suspicions.

S’times, I just cringe at these perpectrators of discord who carry-tales of false news & false impressions - so many nowadays in other threads too. We’re wiser now with those regulars who stoke fire against gibt, but these recent ones against NY - SIGH!

No words to describe these ppl. So ‘eng’ to start several new accounts just to play this game. Their lives so empty, to call out for attention in this manner.

Thank you to KSP community who are sharp & will not hesitate to call those bluffs. Stay strong together NYGH parents!

I'm not here to stir shit (but wouldn't mind if I have to  ).

Kinda hard to say \"Let the NY community handle the issue\" when the issue is out in the open / news.
Firstly, everyone is entirely to their opinion, no matter how nonsensical or rubbish that opinion is (IMHO of course).
Secondly, the 'NY community' is a lot bigger than just the pool of current students / parents of current students. The 'NY community' may also include student that ever was or will be - in short, that's quite a lot of people.

Haha, if the teacher have had the students line up and opened up the Hongzi shoulder buttons to inspect a la conveyor belt system style, I’d say that is something worth my empty life to dwell into.

Now, there is one student subjected to this. Why is this n number ‘1’? It could have happened to an entire class under that teacher’s inspection, but why that selected ‘1’?

If you’re getting my drift… The rest of the wannabes who witnessed this are so worried and concerned by what they’ve seen and felt it could happen to them, and because it is easy to make it sound sensational, added lots of fictional details that fanned speculation, capitalising on the vagueness of this entire hullabaloo. It could be parents of rule-flouting students who helped fan up these things even (who knows?) because, hey, if I spent a bomb buying that Nike bra to show through the boringly white school uniform, I jolly well want my princess to walk around showing off that catwalk-worthy piece to express her individuality (over the rest of the law-abiding boring creatures), right?

So it’s blown up. Instead of having teachers help parents police and help us teach our daughters to align to defined rules, we are quick to point multitudes of accusing fingers at teachers, because most of us parents have never been teachers, but remembered the time when we had to abide by strict rules enforced by teachers and hating it then, and/or can’t bear the thought of our princesses being reprimanded by someone else.

The rules have always been there. I wanted to buy other colour bras for my daughter but she always says there’s no point because they can only wear beige-coloured ones. Not virgin white, not princess pink, not pastel blue. Just beige. I really wanted to thank the one who set the school rules for doing this, for teaching my kid well. Not forgetting the ones who enforce them, so that students understand that results (academic and otherwise) are not the only important stuff.
