Heard from my friends that this year hot courses at poly most have their cop reduced, I wonder the same for JC?

Gut feel for JC is no.

Most poly courses’ COP are still higher than JC. Therefore, they have bandwidth to improve further, especially if they can attract more JC bounded students to their courses. Wouldn’t be surprised to see a 1 or 2 points shift.

JC, on the other hand, is attracting a narrower range of students and unless there’s a huge increase of 6 pointers, unlikely to change the COP of the top JCs or cause a ripple effect down the line.

      from ptthp update,
looks like jc in upp mid range and just after \" top 3\" ( RI, HC,Vj ) cop has improved by 1 pt ( can see fr nyjc, njc ,acjc, sajc, tjc, eunoia etc) waiting to see the top jc movement

if this is the case, seem like a lot of avg and above avg 2018 O level students did pretty well
The already excellent results/ Top tudents remain Top n stable consistent L1R5

Top students already scoring 6 or 7 points. How low would you want them to go?

IMHO, COP of JC isn’t a reflection of how well the cohort did for the exams. Rather, it’s a reflection of how well accepted are the A Level route among this group of above average students. If lots of them choose JC, COP may drop; if polys do a good job of pulling them away, COP may raise.

                Jurong Pioneer JC (JPJC)

                2019 JC1 admission COP

                Science : 15

                Arts : 16

                Yishun-Innova JC (YIJC)

                Science & Arts : both 20

20 points, is the last Cut-off, to enter a Junior College. In other words, Yishun-Innova is the last JC to hop on-board, to take in 2-year A-level students

NYJC cut off- 6- Science , 7- Arts.

                      Thank you very much, isetan

In terms of COP, Nanyang (Science) is on par with Victoria JC (Science), also 6 points. Just one point behind RI (Science), at 5. Impressive, because Nanyang is not an IP-JC

Well done, Nanyang, keep it up ! 🙂 wow, really not easy to score 6 points

I think students like the school environment. Lots of outdoor tables and chairs for studies, an hour late of commencement for school hours, flexible subject combi, etc.
