When is your June holiday program, for Oral training starting, because mid-August is actual PSLE Oral exam ? -
MOE web had published the aggregate Tscore range (2018 PSLE batch) .
This info is a useful reference for 2019 P6 students (born 2007), as we need to set our own targeted goal (objective), to meet the official Cut-off-point (T-score entry) of our dream school.

Hi,
I am looking for good Maths tutor . Anyone can recommend . -
Hi
Does MOE provide explanation for the alpha grades for PSLE? For school, A is a range from 75 to 90. For PSLE to get an A you have to get minimum of 75? Or the bell curve brings the range up or down?
DC of a close friend struggling with CL and scoring Ds. Considering that the DC is unlikely to put in much more effort due to behavioural issue, she feels DC can achieve a C during PSLE cos marked against peers. Is this true? -

50-59 C
60-74 B
75-90 A
91 and above is A*
(Bell curve is not involved)
Second, T-score is an average-weighted score used in PSLE and its basis is the bell curve. As to the shifting of bell curve, please go the below website to understand more.

third, DO NOT be upset by scoring D in Chinese, unless your child is getting all A* or A (Estimated t-score is 230). You do not need to worry about Chinese until all subject is 65 and The child NEED Chinese to score 65 in order to get t-score of 188.
(BTW if behavior problem is an issue, then its best to consult with school counselor about changes that could help the child study better.)
If your child need to refocus their effort in Study of PSLE, you could refer to link below.

The other parents have answered the technical side of it.

I just wanted to point out that (due to non-technical reasons) your close friend may be correct if the DC has been getting Ds for CL in a SAP school or a non-SAP top school. This is because the school test papers for such schools are much more difficult that the rest of SG.
On the flip side of it, for languages the compo paper is usually marked in batches from the same school by the same marker. As far as I know they do not purposely shuffle up the index numbers to mix up the different schools. So the marker will always have slight bias when assessing the language capacity of the child amidst his schoolmates. -

Oh.. Its much clearer now. :thankyou:
Hi sweet baby,
T-score is not raw score.
Even if a candidate's original raw score hit 91 or 92 for Maths at coming 2019 psle (october), it doesn't mean going to get an A star, because T-score take into account the overall performance of thousands of fellow p6 peers (candidates) taking psle together.
Depending on the level of difficulty of this year Maths Paper (1 and 2), SEAB can adjust upwards or downwards, depending on the overall performance of p6 cohort. At this point in time, we won't know whether maths paper (1 and 2) set by seab going to be an easy pixy, or tough / challenging (difficult).
The same goes for Chinese (english) papers (1, 2, 3 and 4), and for science.
But for sure, carelessness during answering mcq (maths and science), can be a killer. Every mcq question answered wrongly, either dont know or know but careless didn't bother to double-check, minus 2 marks
