Oh, it’s a pity. Theirbprogram was very good & LC’s DS1 also enjoyed & benefitted.
Hi Esteema,
Just called Academia, 5 minutes ago. They said they going to conduct an english Composition workshop this June holiday, but not English Oral workshop.
Thanks very much, dear.
We’ve never did any Compo workshop with Academia so can’t provide any feedback. -
Hi Esteema,
Is all right, dear. You have been very helpful and kind, all these while. Much appreciated
I will join the one recommended by sky (above), because time is extremely tight now, and June is very busy. Just enrol kid for a workshop on Oral help. -

I m the other way round..dd always locked herself in the room. I m basically unwanted by her. I ask her to eat, drink, wake her up from nap and nag her to sleep..I m not sure if she is indeed studying coz she has her earphone with laptop on says she wants to listen to songs..and if indeed studying not sure if she has her own effective ways..she just want to do it on her own and always reject my offer to help..I used to mark her paper but last week she asked my permission to mark it herself and do her own correction..and my dd2 continue with playing and her marks are going south :nunchuk:
Psle mums with younger kiddos taking exams. how are u ladies coping this year? I feel like im going bonkers this year handling 2 ongoing exams esp during this critical year...
does any of u feel you have 'neglected' / let go your younger kiddos abit? i feel my dc2 results this mid year going to drop big time cos i dont really have much energy and time left to coach him... feel very burnout lately...
Am i the only one who feels this way? :gloomy: -
what is expected (target) marks for Oral to be considered ok actually? dd sure bad in the eng…but I never thought of add on Oral holiday prog till now… Is it more helpful for kids who already quite strong in the language but just need a little more tweaking in answering in order to score higher marks? I always have impression that holiday/intensive prog more suitable for stronger students…or maybe I m wrong?

for Oral, need content in order to talk. Otherwise, dumb-founded, anything (topic) can come out under the sun

Want to be independent but ready or not, that is the problem..to 'force' her go my way will make both parties angry..to let her have her own way, I was very worry at the initial stage..now I m quite ok just trust her..I told her let's see what happen to SA1..if cannot make it then got to change method. I didn't realise the prelum is so early starting with Oral not long after start Term 3..luckily FLD mentioned the date for PSLE oral earlier today..

dont worry tryourbest, your suffering will end in a few more months and I see those kids with more hands on moms will be likely be very happy when results are out.. -

When my kids study for exams, their hp all in my room. Normal days I’ll just alert them when too long using hp, but will not restrict them holding to hp as I want them to develop self-control. No earpiece as DH says it’s a bad habit & limits concentration since energy for listening to music can be better channeled to full focus on exams prep. DH thinks once hv such habits, tendency to shut others out & ppl can’t get their full attention on subj matters in discussion & pose danger when on roads as all other sounds got shut out by their favorite band. To DH, it’s an anti-social habit he does not want our kids to acquire.
We do not encourage our kids to shut parents out of their rooms. Wait till they own their place. I rmbr my M’sian intern staying with us when mum was ard, wld leave his room door half opened whenever his gfrd comes visit. He explain he’ll like to respect us as his guests just staying for short visit & usually come visit when he is not on houseman duty.
