All About Parent Volunteers (PV)

Has anyone tried and had been successfully accepted by Nan Hua as PV for P1 2011? Is the selection process very rigorous? Filling up the form makes me feel like going for job interviews haha

Hi, I received a letter last week from NHPS saying tat my application was unsuccessful.
I am staying at cck area, very near to De lasalle and South View. However, De Lasalle does not accept PV many years back

maybe u can try southview...it's quite a good neighbourhood school tat produces a number of elite students. My hubby frenz just completed his PV there. :love:

Actually I am left with either to enrol ds to my old school (Bukit Panjang Primary School) or South View (which I have to work as a PV). South View and BPPS, can anyone comment on this 2 schools? Thanks in advance

Did u hv interview with the school and given the application form? I was told that as long as u submitted the application form, u r \"considered\" accepted and juz wait for the committee to call u for volunteer work.

Really???!!! Yipee!!! Yur kid registering for P1 in 2010 too??? That means we might bump into each other. Ha..ha.. But HIPS is actually within 2km for me. How abt u?

Yes, registeration for P1 in 2010...me too staying within 2km...hopefully dont need to ballot base on HIPS past history. Pray & cross our fingers history repeats! Yup, we may bump into each other... Once we starts our Volunteer works, we give each other a ring then perhaps we can recognise each other :celebrate:

Called HIPS last wk n they told me they are calling parents of 2003 kids first since they are due 4 registration this year (2009). Hm.....seems like a nice school.

My son would be entering Primary 1 in 2011. I’m staying along Yio Chu Kang Road (Begonia Road) and there are NO schools within 2km from our house!


Therefore please advise on the following questions. (My primary school is at the bottom of the ranking list and my husband’s school has closed down). We have no connections with any associations or whatsoever.

1) Should do volunteer. If so, in which school, since none are closeby.
2) If I do not mind a neighbourhood school, which is the best I can go for in my area?
3) If I’d like a good school, which one do I stand a chance of getting in with/without volunteering or at Phase 2C?

Your advice would be very much appreciated.

Just called up Nan Chiau. They don't accept early registration for PV. My gal born in 2005, can only call back by end of 2009 to check on registration. Want to be kiasu also cannot


Does anyone know which schools accept early registration for PV? Since I am not too busy for this 2yrs, would want to PV first rather than late. Intended to PV 2 schools - HIPP (don't know whether they accept early registration or not) and NanChiau. Since they say 'no', need to try other schools that can 'take me in'. :idea:

End 2009 is probably the earliest any sch would accept PV for a 2005 kid I reckon… coz deadline is actually mid 2010.
