Hi Siglaplover,

You are welcome 😄

If I am not wrong, you can use the following website and select SJI:-

https://sis.moe.gov.sg/

PSLE Aggregate Score
Aggregate range of 2018 Primary 6 students posted to 2019 Secondary 1
'O' Level Programme\t
245\t255\t247\t(Non-Affiliation)
238\t251\t244 (Affiliation)

I believe the Affilation Column Lower (238) is the COP for affiliated students.

Do note that school may adjust this COP (they will inform parents of current students). Also, in PSLE 2021 (current P4 cohort), T Score will be replaced by the new AL Score.

for T-score : the higher, the better

But, from 2021 onwards, the lower the Total AL score, the better
The lowest is : 4 AL points (for 4 subjects)

What is SCGS new affliation Cut-off, under 2021 AL Psle roll-out ?

is it around 12 AL points ?
Hi KSPs,

Are there any updates/insides of the new COPs for Affiliated Schools based on the new AL (Achievement Levels) come 2021? Been looking around for months but no luck at all.

Thanks.

There hasn’t been any official update from MOE yet. Keep an eye out in the next few months. There was some allusion to it in the newspapers.

As for “insights”, I did my own informal calculation and there was some discussion here:

Haven't really given it much thoughts since my kids are already done with psle. But having just read that 1 page from the above link, the new scoring system can turn out to be... :nailbite: 😓 !!

Imagine if a kid missed the next higher grade by just 1 mark (RAW) for all the subjects...like 84 vs 85. In the old system he would have perhaps a T-score of 252 vs the person with perfect 85 @255...a mere 3 points.
But in the new system, it's 12 vs 8 pts...which probably means that the choice of shcools they can pick will be very different.

**MKS mentioned that in that thread already

looks like under AL, if want minimum 8 points -
P6 student must be consistent , score at least band 1 (85 marks & above), for each subject (languages Eng, Chinese, Maths & Science) ?

Just 1 mark less, at 84 per subject, end up with 12 points ... big difference from 8 points, in terms of admission into OP and IP schools. Can still enter IP school, with 84 marks, per subject ?

To make it to IP school, with lowest T-score admitted in around 251, under AL now, what's the Cut-off (IP school) ?
need how many points ?
10 to 12 points ?

As AL roll out for pioneering batch born 2009, situation un-certain (chaotic) in terms of admission into schools (Sec 1), predict that the # DSA applications will soar very high, come 2021, especially for pupils currently not in affliated primary schools

Great discussion and \"insights\" from that thread! I won't be replying there as my DS is 1 year younger than zac 😛

So the thing I get from the discussion is consistency in all subjects. I personally favor the T-score as if a child scores 100 for maybe 2 subjects, and not bad for the other 2, he/she wouldn't have a good AL to enter a more popular school of choice, which might have more resources or favor the subjects he/she is strong at. But the AL really should take out the stress of most parents (I am one of them) and since O-Levels have similar system, it should be fine.

I am in for a change and less white hairs to worry about 🙂

I got a qn. For those affiliated schools, will it be hard for kids from non-affiliated to mix and integrate into the new sec school given that most of the kids from the affilaited schools will already have headstart and their own cliques?

It really depends how much effort the secondary school puts into ensuring a good mix in the Sec One form classes.

Bear in mind that the affiliated students may not even know each other despite having spent 6 years in the same school. They may not have been in the same class. Or same class but not close friends.

For a non-affiliate to assimilate well into the secondary school, I would say the personality must be outgoing and not afraid to initiate conversations to make new friends. Extremely shy, quiet or introvert type, very tough to break in (to any types of cliques, even outside school).
