Do you know if schools can let you know numbers over the phone? I can then just drive down right away. Thanks!

Do you mean registration is first come first serve?

\"red number\" maybe cannot get, but is first come first serve. Maybe SPools should consider balloting lol

I think you have stressed yourself too much, unnecessarily.

If your first choice is St Gabriel, vacancy for 2B is 45. The highest number of applicants during 2B is 37-38 (year 2014) since 2006. I think you can close shop and apply and welcome you to primary 1.

Both Maris Stella and SJIJ are usual balloting at 2km if not 1-2km. Balloting odds like 2 to 1 is not for everyone.

Other schools like St Stephen or De Lasalle would be alternative with no such risk. Distance is not a matter given that you want a catholic school.
For the benefit of parents going for the 3 popular catholic boys school in 2B.
Numbers are for 2017 registration....

SJI Jr
59 vacancies, 82 applied
Balloting >2km
42 applicants vying for 27 vacancies.

Maris Stella
69 vacancies, 63 applied
Balloting >2km
45 vying for 27

Catholic High
28 vying for 24
Balloting for <1km

No details on number of PRs for the 3 schools.

The numbers above are inaccurate for Maris Stella.

What’s the accurate numbers?
Maris Stella only had 60 vacancies and no ballot

You should consider monfort junior as your 2CS backup

Hi all,

I am intending to monitor a few schools during Phase 2B day 1 before making a decision on day 2 based on my chances. Does anyone know if schools will give the figures (no. of applicants and chances) over the phone? Or do you have to go down to the school to ask? I can't imagine having to travel between 3 or 4 schools every couple of hours!

I was intending to go with St Gabriels Primary as my safe choice in Phase 2B >2km, but it seems like they have more applicants this year than last! And ironically, SJIJ and Maris Stella have better figures this year than last! Getting really nervous that it would be a balloting for ALL 3 schools this year for 2B>2km!

these figures from https://balloting.xyz/ (big thanks to whoever who did this!)
1st day numbers don't give you an accurate picture on the demand. I would suggest you go on 2nd day and then decide.

Does balloting for SC <1km take place if applicants staying <1km outnumber the vacancies?

Eg Assuming 20 vacancies with 24 SC staying <1km, 5 SC staying 1-2km, 3 SC staying >2km, 6 PR staying <1km. Since 24 SC within 1km is more than 20 vacancies. Ballot for SC <1km is required.

If SC staying <1km turns out to be 19, then balloting only applies to 5 SC staying 1-2km to vy for that 1 slot (20-19) ?
Thank you!
