Appreciate if someone could help clarify the RMPS 2B breakdown statistics reflected on balloting.xyz
Total vacancies - 200
Phase 1 final - 83
Phase 2A1 final - 26
Phase 2A2 final - 25
Phase 2B vacancies - 33 ?? :?
Phase 2C pre-allocation - 20
Based on the known numbers shouldn’t the allocated 2B spots be 200-83-26-25-20 = 46 instead of 33 ? :? Many thanks in advance -

The total remaining will be split between 2B/2C equally. 33/33

Total = 200
Reserved = 20 for 2B, 20 for 2C
Vacancies left at the end of P2A2 = 160-83-26-25 = 26
26 will be splitted equally to 2B and 2C
So, 2B = 20 + (26/2) = 33 -
Hi, can anybody advise what’s the odds for SC 1-2km at phase 2b for HIPS this year? Thanks

At current TUR at 2A2 of 67% (181 taken up), it look set to be balloting for >2km folks. SC 1-2km seems to stand a fairly good chance of getting in without ballot. Please monitor the numbers during registration.

I think its unlikely to happen this year but who knows!
I am considering Maris Stella as the numbers are looking hopeful for 2B (but it may be that I am reading them wrongly). Last year there were 53 applicants and fewer vacancies left at 2B phase. This year, it seems there are 55 slots left for 2B.... and if there are less applicants than last year, folks like me who are >2km might stand a chance at 2B!
Maris Stella only had 60 vacancies and no ballotHendon\" post_id=\"1920493\" time=\"1563383872\" user_id=\"142376:

Am i reading this correctly?
Either that or parents do not want to risk balloting and end up in 2C and thus swing to other schools.
You should be more concerned about number of applicants >2km vs remaining vacancies.
Generally, its the GRL that do not have much option. catholic parents can swing over to other catholic schools if odds aren't too good. -

Am i reading this correctly?
Yes and no. Given the increase in numbers, the same priority people will be eyeing the exact same thing you are thinking. Perhaps there is a chance of a repeat in 2016 that all SC went in. At the same time you have to be aware of the risk that increase in applicants within 2km folks will mean lesser for the more than 2km folks to share.
Example if there is 50 spots and total applicants say 60 and those within 2km total is 35. And total, although on the official number 60 over 50 seems very reasonable, the actual balloting odd is in fact 25 applicants over 15, 1.6X. If you really want to monitor the situation, you need to know your risk threshold. Some people is risk adverse, no risk at all type. Others has the stomach for 3:1 balloting.
You also need a buffer of around 10 in the last hour. And whether you can go to the next location within the time is another thing as well.
I only know when your options become wider, your situation also become more complex. Remember to think back what was your original choice and decision and assess what’s the plan and how to execute it on the actual day.
