It is morally impossible for you to qualify for all 3 schools under 2B. Which Christian denomination do you really believe in?
I m a Christian by faith. Hubby was baptised as an infant in a Roman Catholic Church. Just found out sjij could be an option. Nothing immoral about it I think.
I didn’t say immoral. Be aware that if enter under 2B into a Catholic school, it is compulsory for your son to attend the Catechism classes there. There will also be informal questions to him like which church are you attending...ask your conscience.
It did sound quite insulting even if I respect you for your knowledge and advices that you freely give out to others.
I did not know about the catechism classes. Thanks for highlighting.

Ok guys, let’s skip the misunderstanding, maybe wrong choice of words. We all meant well for our children.

Anyways, since we are in the ACS thread, and it is harder to get in, I would “biasely” suggest you to choose both ACSs 😉

Probably the wrong thread to post but I'd like to also highlight that besides compulsory catechism classes, child would also be required to attend masses as well.

Having said that, i guess many parents would like to be in your shoes with multiple options.

This might have been asked before, but are there any avg figures from previous years for SC<1km applying under 2b for acsj? Trying to gauge the possibility of <1km applicants exceeding the vacancies.

It's hard to find the stats for exact applicants unless you called the school and take down every year after Phase close.
From past years, all <1km at Phase 2B went in, which is a strong indication of no balloting.

Yeah I’ve trolled through most tables and graphs but couldn’t find any stats. Hopefully this year will not be an anomaly.

The above is for day 1 for last year for acsj.

2018 can give an indication of something. Within the zone, there can be potentially more than 41 SC staying within 1km of ACSJ and 32 SC staying within 1km of ACSP. That’s for dragon year, hope it’s less competitive this year.

There seems to be stable and increasing demand for this area as the 30 month rule seems to work for both girl and boy school in SCGS and ACSs and SJIJ. ACSP already has more demand this year at the same stage.

Thanks for the link Lexi! Yes looking at the demand for acsp this year, I think it’ll be the same for j as well. In any case, it’s going to be an exciting week ahead lol!

                      Good morning,

I understand previously I have posted about ACSJ’s student care set-up and when their’s will be up and running… thanks for the headsup on the Headmaster’s annoucement link. My hubby called the school earlier trying to check on when they will possibly start accepting interest from parents and they have notified him to probably check the parent’s newsletter for updates as they are currently still sourcing for SC tender (as what Zac’s mum have also pointed)… I’ve looked through the ACSJ’s website but couldn’t find any links to a Parent’s newsletter… is there a link that I might have missed?

                      Thanks and cheers!
