ACSP is a GEP school. ACSJ is not.

Will both parents receive the sms for the balloting result or only one?

1. PS has an in-house student care centre (run by Epworth, formerly called MCYC). JS in-house student care centre is currently in planning stage only. It will be converted with minor renovations from a current bomb shelter/former indoor rifle range in the school, and will not likely be ready till Term 2-3 of 2020. There is an off-site student care called Learning Leap at Goldhill Centre. Shuttle bus is provided but charged as extra.
2. PS has its own swimming pool on campus. Kids get to/have to do swimming during their PE lessons from P1 onwards. JS does not require its kids to do swimming for PE until P3 (MOE recommended age). Shuttle bus is provided (free) to PS campus for these lessons.
3. PS has a new principal since 2019. A female principal (formerly principal of New Town Primary). Haven’t heard any feedback about her so far. JS principal has a proven track record and her style is progressive and student-centred holistic development (no academic stress). She used to be principal of Fairfield Methodist Primary.
4. PS campus is shared with both ACS Barker Road (a Secondary school) and BRMCK (a kindergarten). Traffic is a mess especially during afternoon dismissal times. As far as I recall, the guards/traffic wardens do nothing to help manage the traffic & the stress levels are super high with parents cutting here and there. JS traffic, in contrast, is well-oiled and managed very well by the guards. The zebra crossing is also well-controlled by the guard. He really looks out for the safety of the kids. PS canteen is shared with the secondary school boys. I don’t know if you have an issue with your younger kids hearing & absorbing foul language from the teens but it really turned me off.
5. PS is a GEP school. Some people say the academic teaching standards are higher at such schools. So expect plenty of worksheets from P1.
- feel free to throw in any differing opinions or data that you have gathered. -
JS Principal earned a lot of praises from parents. that is the well known fact.

Check the carbon copy of the form that you (or your spouse) filled up at the school. The contact HP number(s) that you filled in will be the one receiving the SMS.

And also, any subsequent hard copy welcome letter from the school (containing details of the Orientation dates, etc) will be mailed to the child’s father’s NRIC address as used in the registration. -

I just thought of another one. It may be a major consideration for some:

6. PS starting time is 8am (30min later than most schools). JS starting time is the usual 7.30am. -

I saw this post in ACS Primary forum (page 55). Someone wrote reached school by 7.30am. Can someone verify if it should be 7.30am or 8am? If it starts late, I would expect it to end late. But seems the dismissal time is about the same as other school.
Get to school by 730am.
Dismissal times: Mon, Tue and Thu - 1.30pm. Wed - 1.15pm. Fri - 1.55pm -
