Hi, like to have a general check how other schools drill their P6 students for their psle.
My child starts school as early as 7.10am for an early self study session thou not compulsory but then sometimes the teachers do go thru some work during this session. After that is the normal school hours till 2.10pm. Then they have 1.5 hours supplementary for each subject from Monday to Thursday. By the time they reach home is 4pm+,with 1 to 3
homework to complete, sometime to hand in the next day, sometime 2 days.
Is the above normal for P6 students in other schools?
No need to come early for us too. I think for the students to get there on time its already an achievement lol

Here's the list of Pri 4 to 6 CL syllabus words and phrases I prepared for my students. -->

You will notice that there are side notes for certain words and phrases - they're either commonly tested/confused/important to note. If you like to have the practice version (i.e. 汉语拼音 and English meaning columns are blank) for practice/test purposes, feel free to drop my a PM or http://chenlaoshi.wixsite.com/psleprepclass/contact.

65 days to PSLE CL written paper. 加油! :rahrah:

It’s a little too late to be whacking the parents or the kids in this 2019 PSLE thread. Let them focus on their revision now since they can’t change what policy/system they were given.
You will be sorely disappointed. Yes they took away \"exams\" officially. But streaming still has to occur at the end of p2. So guess what, schools insert all sorts of \"performance tasks\" or whatever other names they want to hide it under. By the way, no intention to whack. Just sharing a POV for parents who are interested to see a new perspective.
In my son’s school, the streaming serves only the purpose of spreading the kids evenly into all mixed ability classes. The “top 1-2 classes” system is being made obsolete by MOE too.
I'm quite thankful to hear that. I can only speak for the competitive schools in the jurong east/west area because my students come from these schools. The schools have already set in place performance tasks and take into account performances in holistic elements to stream the students at the end of P2.

In the end, I still believe that a student that is raised well and taught well will naturally have good results due to the proper learning that was put in place since young. We don't need to focus on grades to get good grades.

First time PSLE mum… so clueless 😉

Your class Form Tr will inform you closer towards PSLE Oral Aug (15 and 16) that

Half of the p6 cohort in your primary school will have English Oral, while the other half cohort will have Chinese Oral. Then next day, swap over the other way round. Maybe go by class and index number, see which P6 classes take English oral first

I think it’s stated in the exam print out from the school. Day of El and day of CL oral for individual pupil.
