HWS has confirmed that within 1km there will b balloting. N dat they have called those applicants dat r bt 1-2km to withdraw.

Thanks tiggerpooh. I also called this morning and they confirmed the bulk 90%+ of the applicants are all SC <1km.

The problem is HWS is that it's intake is small (210 only) and it is surrounded by so many mature & dense housing estates within 1km (from balastier-whampoa to boon keng). I am like 500m from the school on the balastier side and yet my best chance was alumni school on the east side.

HWS intake (210) isn't small. In fact, it's the mean of places available (total: 39,058 places for 185 schools - mean 211).
For Phase 2C: HWS is 117 for 62 (MOE website) whereas your alumni school is 57 for 35. Your alumni school also seems better because the small number of seats (35) would have frightened a lot of people off.
By the looks of things, I guess you will be sticking to your Phase 2A1 choice ๐Ÿ˜‚

ballot for RGPS is only for SC > 2 km.
For SC (1-2km) : no need to worry

This year is very tough... As a kiasu parent, I cannot totally reveal the current numbers. Just be mentally prepared for 2Cs if > 2km. Some 1-2km applicants are also on the ground, contemplating.

To be very kaisu, you should stop posting. ๐Ÿ˜„

for >2km folks, the range for balloting is usually 1.5 to 2+ times per applicants.[/quote]
We have registered earlier. Just thinking whether to withdraw or not. Usually this portal have good sharing of the numbers. Itโ€™s ok, will make way down to the school. Just stay put la since unlikely to ballot.

Iโ€™m at 1-2km range. Hopefully can make it there in time to get updates. Contemplating to switch to St Margaret if balloting at 1-2km.

RGPS: over 50 pax >2km fighting for around 10 vacancies. Parents are still walking in (probably 0-2km)โ€ฆparents are standing by the gate.

no wonder the Admin lady on the phone said that RGPS numbers are overwhelming this year, for SC > 2 km.
But funny, she refused to disclose over phone, what's the number break-down.
So, is better for you all to station yourself on-site there, get the actual numbers yourself

sweetbaby, you won't be affected because u are at SC (1-2 km), your daughter is very safe

Only SC > 2km parents feel stressed, because the number keep rising
