I have registered for GRL but no news yet. It's been about 1.5 months!

My suggestion would be not to put too much hope on the GRL route. Unless you know somebody who know somebody, it's not a guarantee that you will get get the invitation to join. If they insist on having you as an observer before appointing you, you may not meet the cut-off date of 1 July 2020.

Actually need invitation to join? I applied online, ed them, sound nice and plead the staff la. Ask him help me expedite. All processing and background check in 2 months. Maybe try to call pa hotline to check your application.

I apply on the PA website to volunteer for GRL on the 31st July, got their response on the 12th August and submit VR form. Very fast I thought it would take months

But that’s still not an official appointment. You will have to be appointed before 1 Jul 2020.

you really need to push. after submit form, it took 3 months for me to go to 1st meeting, and another 11 months from Observer to Executive Member.
