2019 PSLE Discussions and Strategies (Children born in 2007)
-
Chenlaoshi, for the 2nd question, if any the child talk about the social responsibility part (which does not seem a lot to say) and continue with concrete examples of how everyone can play a part, is that considered out of point and won’t score well.

Anyone knows anything about make up oral exam?

Dd memorised the answers for this topic as we were sure it will come out for prelim or PSLE this year. However, she did not get the prelim topic as compared to her peers who took prelim oral on first day. This time, PSLE Chinese Oral appears this questions on 2nd day and dd did not get this topic too.
保持环境清洁 is a subtopic under 环保, just like for example 有公德心 is a subtopic under 懂得为别人着想.
Time to recharge over the weekend and prepare for Prelims! :rahrah:
I should say she is lucky not to get this topic for Day 2 Chinese Oral as this topic requires correct and standard vocabulary for the Chinese oral.
PSLE Day 1 Chinese Oral is still considered easier than Day 2. Day 1 answers 对考官来说会带一点新鲜感。
PSLE Day 2 Chinese Oral will have the same type of answers for most candidates and answers are 大同小异。 -

O my! What are the chances for this happening!
Chenlaoshi,
For the 2 questions below, are the answer points kind of overlapped?
问题: 你和你的家人是如何保持环境清洁的?
问题: 你认为保持环境清洁是清洁工人的责任吗?你是否同意这个说法。
I just went through these topics with my son ystd.
Never tot this will come out cuz it is one of those typical practice oral topics. -
In conclusion , I think this is totally unfair .
I still think that EL day one and CL day two are common topics and can obtain through reading , the children are able to talk about it .
However , the CL day one and EL day two are questions that are high level… requires a lot of thinking-skills. -

English Oral Questions:
1) What does the poster reminds us to do?
2) How can u make the poster more attractive to others?
3) Have u ever forgotten something before?
4) How do u help ur family / peers not to be forgetful?
5) Which date would u never forget?
These were the questions which were posed to my girl.
Friends’ children were asked about the above 5 questions too.
Below are the 3 questions that the examiners asked my child.
1) Do you think this poster is useful. Why?
2) Have you ever forgotten something before? Tell me about it.
3) What can you do if you have a family member who is forgetful ?
Anyone knows why some children get 5 questions while some get 3 questions for English Oral? -
Lastly, we need to move on to assist our children preparing the coming Prelim exam and PSLE papers.

My son’s Chinese is really poor though. At least with today’s Chinese topic, he can say something lol. If he had ystd’s topic, he won’t even be able to understand the questions, let alone answer them.
🙏🏻 He can pass! -

newbieks, i edited my earlier reply to include some suggested points:

我们共同居住在这个地球上,保护环境清洁人人有责
应该懂得为自己的行为负责
应该关爱他人,帮忙减轻清洁工人的负担
只靠清洁工人打扫无法及时把环境弄得干净
You'll notice that the conversation is very \"fluid\" in terms of how the topics moves by the time it reaches this question: 保持环境清洁/卫生 --> 环保 --> 责任感、公德心、爱心
Regarding your question, nope, it's not out point - this is considered elaboration (https://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?f=69&t=81235&p=1928092#p1928092). For a \"wholesome\" answer, just need to make sure that there were at least ~2 points that answered the question directly before elaborating. -

No wonder that first statement, \"one day easy, next day hard\", is true. It is not a myth, because been proven in this 2019 psle batch
In conclusion , I think this is totally unfair .
I still think that EL day one and CL day two are common topics and can obtain through reading , the children are able to talk about it .
However , the CL day one and EL day two are questions that are high level.. requires a lot of thinking-skills.
EL day 1 oral (library) : easy, common topic even though you didn't prepare for it
EL day 2 oral (poster showed a light bulb, someone looking at computer pc, and emphasis on \"forgetfulness\") : the theme is ambiguous, not clear, p6 student need to think through fast on the spot, before know what to say
CL day 1 oral (learning in school) : not sure considered easy or tough
CL day 2 oral (huan bao) : at least got school material provided to read up from, help u prepare oral
Huan bao is external, to do with environment, nothing to do with school
Second statement,
\"One day school related, Next day External, nothing to do with school\" -
also been proven true, this time round
