No need tuition in Sec 1 math . No exam ,

Give the kid a break fr psle stress to adjust to new Sec life n added new subjects - a lot to handle
Just pay attention in class , do n revise daily. Unless keep failing in yr end, then still not too late to start yr end or in Sec 2 . Actually Sec 2 Sem 1 also no need …

Let the poor child have a break.... They just barely finish PSLE in Oct... They have worked hard for so long. They deserve a good holiday break.

Btw, is this an ad or something? PSLE haven't over, now thinking of sec 1 tuition already. šŸ˜“

Beg to differ... because I have seen some of my friends' children who was doing very well in primary school turn out to do badly in secondary math. Most of them saying is because of the algebra... LOL šŸ™‚

Dear Mks, there's No overwhelming difficulty in Sec1/IP1 Maths, especially for your dd's standard, no worries at all. Plus, algebra rules + explanations can be easily found online.

Has anyone heard of Cleverland Tutorial Centre? Heard some of my child's classmates parents saying that the Sec 1 Math Holiday Preparatory Class there taught by the owner/teacher there is very good. I am considering putting my P6 child there for the upcoming November holiday math class for Sec 1 but need to know more. Has anyone attended their math lessons there? Please help to comment?

The only info I have now is the link below:
                      https://www.cleverland.com.sg/sec-1-holiday-math-prep-class

                      Thanks a lot.[/quote]
I have never heard of this center. But.

Since you have mentioned that your child is in their P6 class right now (several other threads), I guess this center is doing its job for you, so I highly recommend you continue with them for sec 1 prep and sec 1 regular class. And if you sign up now, I am guessing you will get a slot so you wont end up like your friend who didnt manage to get one last year.

For interest, i find sec 1 maths is no big leap from p6 maths, in fact some of the questions are much easier, for us.
