Sigh... stress mummy here. Sorry for the long post.
      DD morale has dipped further.
Today, her good friend whom both of them always hang out together, told her the Science teacher can give them extra remedial, at 6pm to 7pm. So after supp. class at 3.40pm, my gal came home first. Then she go back to sch for 6pm lesson. General ofc called and say all teachers went home, told me to fetch her. General ofc say the Science class is from 3.40pm to 5pm.
Then around 7pm, the Science teacher call me and told me that DD friends told him that DD is not free to attend the class! Gosh!
I told the teacher 2 gals told my DD the lesson is at 6pm. The teacher say he will talk to the gals tmr.
DD really like the way this teacher teaches. It's her P5 science teacher. That's why when she score only 60 for her science in SA1, she ask this teacher if he can give her extra lessons. The teacher told me, from now on, he will personally inform me of the timing for the extra lessons, not going thru her friends.
DD say, the few friends from top 2 classes who ignored her past few days, came to apologise to her. They say they feel upset to know my DD prelims marks for some subject is higher than them. But after they cool down, they feel apologetic hence they came talk to DD.
And now, another new episode happen. 😢
Now trying hard to convince my gal, a true friend will feel happy for her achievements.
      A lot of drama o.o
Tell ur child not to go girl's sch 4 secondary school, hopefully this womt happen again

Has anyone encountered your child’s performance has somewhat plateaued? My daughter seemingly has. Her scores from p5 SA2, p6 SA1 and p6 prelims are somehow quite similar. Difference between each subject is about 3 to 5 marks, sometimes up, sometimes down. Trying to break into A star is proving to be an uphill task. My wife says perhaps she reached the max but I’d like to think that she needs to continue to be more resilient and persevere. I really can’t fault my daughter’s effort cos she puts in the work so sometimes I sense a tinge of disappointment when the results are released.

Starting from the 2019 Secondary 1 Posting Exercise (for the 2019 Primary 6 cohort), Students from feeder primary schools who meet the minimum affiliate PSLE Score set by the secondary school and indicate the affiliated school as their first choice, will be posted based on their PSLE Scores.

If the demand by these eligible affiliated students is lower than 80% of places for that course, all of them will get a place in the course in the school.

If the demand is higher than 80%, posting-in of affiliated students will stop at 80% and the remaining students will be considered together with non-affiliated students for posting into the school based on their PSLE Scores.

Affiliated students who are not posted to their first choice will be considered for their next choice school.

Students from affiliated primary schools to Secondary schools have to ensure they are within the 80% or else risked being posted to 2nd choice school.

                  Re: sec school posting

How will the school choose between someone who scores higher but puts the school as 2nd (or 3rd choice), compared to someone who scores lower (still above cut-off) but puts the school as 1st choice?

yes, when we are considering the option of DSA, the 1st thing she told me is that, she dont want to DSA to a gal school.

update on the gals who played my gal out.
The Science teacher talk to them, and the 3 gals apologies unwillingly in the supplementary class when the teacher told them to do so.
my gal asked her bff who is one of the gal who played her out, why she did that. her bff told her that the other 2 gals wants her to do so, else they will ignore my gal's bff.
the 2 gals told the bff that they are jealous of the improvement my gal has for science.
before the science teacher step in the supplementary class, they asked my gal why is she still going for the extra class when she is already scoring A. :slapshead: :slapshead: they also asked another boy who scored 93 the same question.

problem is, the 2 gals is taking foundation science, why do they have to compare themselves to other students taking standard science? the Science teacher is really a helpful and caring teacher, who never rejects students request for extra lesson, and allows foundation and standard science students attend the class together.

lastly, the bff told my gal, because of the played out incident, they almost get expel from school. gosh... got so serious meh?
