Any idea what this exception is? Don’t think it’s because his Mother is a celebrity actress right?

DS has a friend who exited RI in year 4 to another JC via DSA. He got into RI via DSA too. I guess there will always be an exception?
The rest of the really weak students I heard were to Polytechnics after Year 4.
There is this celebrity actress.
Her son in RI, at year 5 transferred over to Hwa Chong
So sounds like RI released the boy to HCI. Was he DSAed? I think the issue is if a DSA student can transfer our after Sec 4. I suppose if the boy got into RI IP on his own merit, he should eligible to participate in the DSA year 5 and JAE. Only thing is, did he enter HCI using Sec 4 result since he unlikely did his O Levels right?[/quote]Most importantly, when did that happen? Last year? 2 years ago? 5 years ago? There may be past cases of DSA IP kids who transferred to another IP JC, but I believe that MOE has since clamped down on this and now IP students cannot transfer to another IP JC at the end of Sec 4 (entered Sec 1 either through Sec-DSA or S1-posting). Can only go to IP JC if 1) via O level results, or 2) transfer at JC1 (maybe?) -
Can you elaborate what you mean about disparity culture? How are the JAE kids feeling it? Isn’t it the same in all IP schools for JAE kids? Or for the matter of fact, affiliated schools like ACJC and SAJC?

"During the J1 orientation period, it extremely hard to mix in with the JIP students there, as they already are together with their OG (orientation group) for the past month. There were instances where they tried mixing in the JAE with the JIP students, but there was certainly still a barrier between IP n JAE.
If you are coming from JAE, expect the fight for leadership positions in school to be tougher as compared to other JCs, as the JIP has a higher advantage (reputation was already built up in secondary and OG period).
But overall, students here are quite friendly." -

Can I assume this is throughout all IP JCs? -

Idk.
Sajc only hv abt 23-25% feeder cohort. -
I think, if you go in with an open mind, there should be no problems mixing with the IP students. If you keep thinking, oh I am JAE, they are IP/ old friends for past 4 years, you are the one setting yourself up with the barrier. Afterall, the IP students dont know every IP student, I dont think RI do lessons with RGS, they also only meet in JC. I also dont think Cat High and SC and SN study any subject together from sec 1 to sec 4.
On a side note, it is like joining a sec sch with affiliated pri sch — they can be from the same pri sch but may never have been in the same class and cca and thus have had zero interaction for 6 years, they dont know each other any better than the other child from another pri sch. -

Oh wow, so what my friend told me about her JAE child in Eunoia is not an isolated case. And it seems like the teachers are acknowledging this problem during the parent - teacher meet that they had recently.
College Mgt shd tackle the disparity culture between IP n JAE now as its an issue brewing. Some JAE kids re feeling it. -

Many closed cliques aldy rootly formed, leaving JAE kids out.
Not so sociable JAE ones feel no sense of belonging.😞
Jc environment is 1 factor to consider when choosing a JC.
Ofc, if just go in to study n dm cant fit into Ejc culture, its k to go Ejc. -
Yikes, I am surprised to hear this as most IP JCs have JAE students typically from two schools, whereas EJC’s JAE students are from three separate schools, so I thought perhaps the JAE intake is more ‘diffused’ and less ‘aggregated’…
Actually I wonder what the IP intake is like at Cat High and SNGS - the SCGS IP cohort is quite small, at 4 classes. -
Eunoia JC Year 5, Total how many classes ?
from Catholic High (IP) : 4 classes
from SCGS (IP) : 4 classes
from St Nick (IP) : 4 classes
from JAE : ?
