my DD school had removed this entire cohort level average marks (mean score), highest Top score, per subject, std deviation per subject
do you all get to see the SA2 average marks per subject?
not too long ago we talked about a tscore calculation method with 'suggested' average of 62 which another member say may be low which I agree too..do you mostly see school average of 70s?
from this year onwards, so we dont get to see P6 CA1, SA1 nor Prelim (SA2) average (mean) anymore.
Teachers also declined to give any feedback when asked, just replied politely, \"follow Moe policy now, cannot reveal\". Whole school is as quiet as a mouse, secretive. All P6 classes don't share any info, everything is like a black box (unknown) -
As our kids are busy with psle, let's take a break, have a kit Kat, have a laugh

good that your DS school shared Prelim info ... Is your DS school co-ed or all-boys school ?
My DS school provided all components marks...from LC to Compo to Oral.
Teacher even inform us the top score and mean score for each subject. -
I personally feel no comparing of results is goodβ¦dd doesnβt like it.

wow, i didnt even know such info exists, becos my DD school has never provided in the 6 years so far. The only public info available is the award-giving of top 3 students per class during the annual book prize ceremony.

Yes, in my DD school, from (2014 P1 to 2018 P5) every single year, her school provided cohort level CA1, SA1, SA2 detailed info, inside a Report book slip (ie. what is the highest Top score, the average, std deviation, per subject).
wow, i didn't even know such info exists, becos my DD school has never provided in the 6 years so far.
The only public info available is the award-giving of top 3 students per class during the annual book prize ceremony.
only wef this year (2019) P6 onwards, all info (above) stopped
On prize award ceremony held @year-end, for the past 5 years, her school announced names of students from
1) Top 25 %, across each entire cohort level
2) Top 3 students, per class (announced, in no ranking sequence order academically),
if there is a Tie in any class, on the Total added-up for 4 subjects, then Top 5 pupils' names will be announced instead
3) the most Improved subject, for each subject category (English, Maths, Science, Chinese, Higher Chinese), across each cohort entire level
4) outstanding Sportsmen / Leadership / Moral Character values / Values-in-Action award, etc
but going forward, from this year (2019) onwards, school going to stop announcing all these, because \"follow MOE order, cannot disclose\". MOE said \"de-emphasize on academic, emphasize more on values, from now onwards\", perhaps #(4) will still remain
anyway, our kids will be marching forward onto next Phase of life : Secondary school, leave behind their primary school. 3 more weeks, everything will be over. Another new chapter in their life, going to open -

Some want to know more to get a feel how their kids are performing or how they are performing against their peers, while some are just not comfortable to share.
