Most importantly, when did that happen? Last year? 2 years ago? 5 years ago? There may be past cases of DSA IP kids who transferred to another IP JC, but I believe that MOE has since clamped down on this and now IP students cannot transfer to another IP JC at the end of Sec 4 (entered Sec 1 either through Sec-DSA or S1-posting). Can only go to IP JC if 1) via O level results, or 2) transfer at JC1 (maybe?)

It happened 2 years ago. The boy should be in JC2 now in a non-IP JC. He got into that non-IP JC via DSA to JC1.

Any reasons why? Non IP JC there are only a few. Without sounding ignorant, why did he give up a confirmed space in IP, go through DSA to gain admission to a non IP JC. My impression is that IP JCs are typically sought after and harder to enter. No?

In year 5 EJC Science stream, the vast majority of students are selecting


H2 (Physics, Chem, Maths) plus contrasting subject,

or

H2 (Bio, Chem, Maths) plus contrasting subject ?

@Catholic High (IP), is it compulsory for (IP3 and IP4) cohort students to take up Physics ?

promotion to EJC in Year 5 (JC1), is based on students’ overall Year 3-4 performance derived from Mid-year Assessments and Year-end Examination.


Minimum attainment level

- Average cumulative mark of 65 %, for best 6 subjects

-\tfulfill all World Readiness Programme and Passion Pursuit requirements



To take on A-level H2 (Biology / Chemistry / Physics)


-\tat least 65 % scored in the subject (JIP Year 4 overall), to offer the subject at H2 level

I am curious. Is the proportion of other JCs also similar to EJC in terms of IP and JAE students? As in 2/3 IP, 1/3 JAE?

Same for RJC. 1/3 from RI, 1/3 from RGS and 1/3 from JAE intake.

For VJ, IP is 2/5 JAE is 3/5, the IP side is 50/50 btw VS and Cedar.

Can see amongst IP JCs, EJC has biggest no. of IPs students currently. No wonder its JAE feel like minority.

But why NJC IPs is a minority in senior high(JC)?
