Anyway, my child has habits of highlighting different colors all over the papers. Also writing both alphabets and words on blanks of cloze passage. Not been penalized by school so far. Hope that it is alright in psle.

So said the man from RJC
青菜萝卜,各有所好
A dream school to many may not be a good school for me. Remember? All schools are good schools

“Every school a good school does not mean every school the same school. But it does mean every school a good school in its own way, seeking to bring out the best in every child.” -

Hi parents, just wanted to check if it is ok to make markings at the side of the answer? Eg for editing, my DD will mark out whether it is grammar or spelling by writing G or S at the side of answer.

so true.
I cannot agree with you on this. You do not try your luck when it comes to education; you choose what it is best suited for you (i.e. IB or A level).
Out-front decide, better know which path u want, don't end up taking wrong path half-way through wasted time, try to de-tour back
eg
you want SOTA or want A-level ?
you want MGS (IB) / ACSI (IB) / SJI (IB), or want A-level ?
you want NUS High or want A-level ?
if your decision is want A-level, next step, want OP or IP ?
if want OP : want pure OP school (eg. Anglican High, Nan Hua High, Nan Chiau High, Chung Cheng High), or want specialized OP school (eg. SST), or want dual-track OP school (eg. Catholic High / Victoria school )?
if want IP : want single-track IP school, or want dual-track IP school ?
if want single-track IP school, want those that come with \"on-standby\" emergency exit-IP-back-to-O-level classes (eg. Dunman High, RI, Hwa Chong), or
those without such classes existing ? (eg. National JC, Temasek JC, RGS, River Valley High) -
Good luck to all P6s… kids stress… seems like parents more heated… chill… just like PSLE is only part of the kids journey…so is it to our journey… we try to make informed choices for them but sometimes how things turn not within our control. Just enjoy parenting process. I really appreciate all the savvy parents here for sharing their thoughts and insights through this 6 years and hope this forum continues to be a platform to keep us connected amicably.

Love this article.
“PSLE is at best a snapshot of your learning over the first 6 years of your entire schooling years. It can’t and doesn’t represent the entire range of learning you have picked up in school over the years.
It also doesn’t represent what you are capable of applying later in life because all examination formats have limitations in terms of testing. So take it seriously but do not be too stressed over it. It’s helpful feedback meant to support your next phase of learning and you need to take it on in the right perspective.
Congratulations, if you do well, but instead of feeling superior to others, be grateful to those who have supported your learning and aspire to help others as well. If you do not do very well, don’t be too discouraged but be determined to strive harder.
Your individual worth is much more than what marks or grades can represent. Don’t let something like a 2-hour test represent what you are capable of or how you think about yourself.
Regulate your emotions over the results, and avoid comparing yourself with others. Always remind yourself to be strong and positive whatever the outcomes, and remember outcomes are only temporary, be it success or failures.
More importantly, don’t lose your self-confidence and interest in learning new things. Your next phase of education has many more things in store for you and you will discover new aspects of yourself as you grow. So keep going, keep learning, keep discovering and keep growing new abilities in yourself.
Ultimately in life, you set your own “exam papers” - you need to decide for yourself what are the important questions to ask in life and what your answers to them will be.”
