I don't know. I'm probably one of those who never bother to check / compare answers.

I mean seriously... spending time and brain capacity to remember questions / discussing answers when that time and capacity would be better spent on tomorrow's paper. The time to discuss math questions and answers was yesterday.

Furthermore, for those who are emotionally fragile, why would you want to discuss and make yourself weaker, knowing that your answers to Qn 1, 3, 5, 10, 11, 20 etc are all wrong. I don't see the benefit of carrying that emotional baggage into tomorrow's paper.

Agreed. I am also worried about my DS performance yesterday. But I realised even when I casually asked him about the paper, I can sense insecurity and stress from him. Personally I think as parents, we need to adjust our expectations and move on.

i was reading today’s paper and saw an article. Taking a quote from Straits Time, “Last year, 94 Young people chose to end their lives. The number of teenage boys Taking their own lives reached a record high last year. 19 boys aged 10 to 19 committed suicide last year.”

While one of the leading cause of suicide is social media influence and not solely attributed to exam stress, both shared common platform in terms of their potential in shaping a person’s self-worth. Add to the fact that there could be kids who are surfing the internet and reading up on discussions of psle exam questions.

Hopefully we can give our DC a pat on the back or a hug and direct more of our attention to encouraging our DC not to get too upset over what was already over and spur them to work harder for the subsequent papers.

Parents are not the ones taking the exams, we won’t understand how the stress can impact the little ones.
Maintaining calm and a pleasant study environment during national exams are very important.
I think best not to let the kids go on the internet or the chat groups for now.

An A* by definition has to be of a higher score than an A in the same subject.
Therefore, based on the formula, the A* T-score has to be higher than the A T-score since the average and the standard deviation numbers are exactly the same for the same exam.
So 4 A* will definitely outscore 4As in the end.
But maybe the final 3 digit number rounded can theoretically be the same... 260.4 and 259.6 => 260?

Not sure about the mathematics.
2 children with AAAA and A*A*A*A hv the same PSLE scores.
They are from my older daughter’s class.
The difference in A and A* is rather big.
I don’t believe in all the predicted PSLE calculators cuz my children differs from the predicted score by as much as 40 points : )
