termjin68,
My DS is very sad..... he said the math paper is so difficult this year. His class was very upset about this year paper. 2018 was such easier.
Not much time left, already Friday night 10 pm. 2 more hours, will be midnight and the day is soon over. We can't do anything with Maths anymore, is over ! Can't take back the Maths paper 2, to re-do change its content. I know it is painful & hurting for some of us here, but sadly, we can't do anything.
Concentrate your energy & effort on Science, going to be a killer (tough) paper, next Tuesday. Know is easier said than done...
IF don't concentrate, will be even sadder, worse situation next week, after Science over. Also, focus on mother tongue. Jiayou, persevere on, we are half-way through the battle, already reached the half-way mark, going to reach (touch) the finishing line, soon. Tell your son that he had come a long way so far, isn't it ? Tell him he is a good soldier, he had fought a good fight, he had already reached the half-way mark. Tell him to hang on, don't give up, hang on for a little bit longer there. Yes, continue to fight on, jiayou ! We are together with you in this fight, you are not alone. Let's fight on together, termjin68, for Science & mother tongue (be it Malay / Tamil / chinese). Charge yah ! DO NOT look back anymore. CHARGE forward !!! -

Sembgal,
Sure. If your child needs closure by discussing the answers of a past paper in order to move on then so be it but make sure the child takes it well knowing that he or she has made mistake/s already and will not affect the upcoming papers. I’m saying don’t go bugging a child for his or her answer because you are anxious to find out how he or she has fared.
Certainly, you know your child best.

I have friends whose kids received CO fr schools who are discussing non stop on answers not because they wanna prove anything. More becos they wanna know how their kids did so that they can think about accepting or rejecting the CO.

Anyone can share how to make use of remaining time to prepare for Science? The child is in dilemma of whether to do more practice papers to gain exposure to more questions or just to keep revising those mistakes made in previous practice papers. I don’t have an answer for her. I feel like telling her to do both but there isn’t enough time… didn’t want to over stress her either…

I know my child will not take it well, maybe neither will I. So for all the questions and answers posted here, I do not dare to probe. Some may call it ostrich mentality..:). But I did buy ourselves a good lunch and a nice piece of cake to perk our spirits up a little.

GLORYmum,
You have misread my intention of message to termjin68.
Please do not misinterpret further and please move on. Thanks -

As the Science exam draws closer, it’s worth working out a plan for your dd’s last minute revision. Work out what she needs to cover and prioritise the most urgent topics based on the mistakes made in her papers. Be realistic, you have limited time, don’t try to do too much.
Anyone can share how to make use of remaining time to prepare for Science? I don’t have an answer for her. I feel like telling her to do both but there isn’t enough time.. didn’t want to over stress her either...
Mark out the topics that she is confident of so she is not wasting time on topics that she is already familiar with. Highlight the areas she needs to do more practice on and make sure she completes a few exam-style questions based on these topics. The topics that she does not know should be marked and these are the areas that she needs to tackle first.
Remind her to keep a positive attitude and keep herself motivated. Stress can lead to mistakes so remind her to relax, stay calm and confident and remind herself that at the end of the day, it is only an exam.
