Dun give up , keep on give her care n encouragement ; assure her u know it is stressful n difficult time for all p6 kids.
Thanks Whitecarrotcake. I am trying bit by bit to encourage my gal to move on, after all, PSLE is only one of the many phases in life that everyone goes through. This is my first time having a child taking PSLE so I didn’t know what to expect. I hope that all kids taking PSLE this year continue to stay strong for the next few days. The finishing line is near.
Let her know parents are supporting her n appreciate, acknowledge the efforts she put in . Whatever results outcome is not the end
The learning route is long - so long we want to study , there are many roads to tertiary education in spore . Many route to university kids need to have the right attitude to keep on learning . All Best , peace with all p6 kids n parents

Like some parents, I clarified some qns. I discussed some possible answers with my girl and kept the rest of the answers to myself. My child is very mature at 12 year old and mentally, I would say she is learning to be resilient and learning to take disappointment in her stride. After discussing some ans, she roughly knows what went wrong and about how many marks she will lose. Somehow, kids will know how confident they are.
In mid afternoon, we stopped discussing about past papers. Although I felt anxious, I gave her the space she needed. I know that it will not improve the situation if we continue to brood over what had been done. Very soon, we decided that she shall bounce back stronger and very determined to do well for the papers next week. She picked up her study materials and started reading.
I told her that 1) I believe in her 2) she shan’t be judged as a person as grades don’t define a person 3) I will give her ample space and serenity which is much needed. -

Being resilient is a very important quality that every child must learn. You have taught her well! She is courageous to sit for PSLE exam, resilent despite know that she made mistakes and determined to do much better for Mother Tongue and Science papers.

You are welcome. Crying is a way to destress and just let her cry and expresses out her emotions and confide in you. She probably wants a listening ear with someone who is empathetic to understand what she is going through. It will help if you let her do nothing but to destress doing her favourite activity today after Science revision.
Thanks Sembgal and LeeTaiTai for sharing. I must admit that my gal is one of the kids seen crying for 2 consecutive days after the written papers. I tried encouraging her, it didn’t work, she said I am running away from reality. So I told her there is nothing much she can do since the paper is over and she said I was too blunt. That prob causes me not knowing what to say when she asked me on how to revise for Science. I hope with the advice shared with me would help reassure her. Really appreciate the advice given. Big thanks! -
may I know how many marks the egg tarts and the semi circle qn costs?
