Sorry, I am a bit confused. My friend's family has a household income of $8000. She has 1 child only & her son received eesis. After the announcement of the financial help, she told me her son's school fees will be reduced further. She will apply for next year. Even though her household income is 8k, but per capita is $2666. But she told me, it is based on household income only. Is she correct? Thanks.
I don't think ESIS is based on GPA.LoveMyMelody\" post_id=\"1938219\" time=\"1569653349\" user_id=\"178604:

for boys who are Singapore citizenship , if his PSLE Tscore goes above 260 or 262, students qualify for EESIS (Year 1) ?
However, subsequently, RI will look at your year-end results, every year
@end of Year 1 (IP), in order to continue enjoy receiving \"free\" education for Year 2 (IP), via EESIS,
what is the minimum (lowest) GPA score requirement, because failure to meet this requirement will mean that the student need to fork out and pay $300+, per month, his EESIS privilege gets terminated from that point onwards, or can he still continue to renew next year, if say, he is able to meet back the GPA score requirement again the following year ?
(EESIS not for Secondary students who are PR / foreigner status)
4. TENURE
4.1 The tenure of the scholarship is 6 years for students on the 6-year programme and 4 years for students on the O-Level track. The scholar must progress to the next level of study each year and have good conduct in order to continue receiving the scholarship.

Extra enrichment programmes in RI are subsidised based on ISB Eligibilities.
i.e. $6,901- $9,000 ($1,726 - $2,250 per capita income) - 33%
$4,001 - $6,900 ($1,001 - $1,725 per capita income) - 70%
$2,751 - $4,000 ($691 - $1,000 per capita income) - 90%
< $2,751 (<$691 per capita income) - 100%

Anyway the enrichment programs (such as overseas trips, boarding) are optional.
It's based on per capita income or household income. In this case it could be partial subsidy according to percentage

ESIS is by merit. As long as you are top 1/3 of students admitted to independent schools.
Financial assistance is different depending on which tier of per capita income you belong to. -

Fees dependent on independent schools or public schools. Independent schools set their own fees.
Yes, this was what I said above.
You mean non independent school.MerlionInGermany\" post_id=\"1938249\" time=\"1569660324\" user_id=\"2964:
If your secondary school is not an independent school, you will not enjoy the ESIS. If you are in a non-IP school, I think the school fees is about $28, if you are a Singapore Citizen.
Fees are dependent on whether the school is an independent school or not, whether it is autonomous or not, etc.
Fees are not dependent on the stream. -

If you are used to doing patterns questions, you will see the pattern very easily. It’s not that hard actually.
Many of my peers said the last question was hard (pattern question) but actually you can see that the diff. between no. of grey tri. and white tri. is actually the figure no. So part b can be answered quite quickly.
Out of all mental abilities this type of intelligence(pattern recognition) is said to have the highest correlation with the general intelligence factor. This is primarily because pattern recognition is the ability to see order in a chaotic environment; the primary condition for life.
Patterns can be found in ideas, words, symbols and images and is mostly unlearned and difficult to train.
Pattern recognition is a key determinant of your potential in logical, verbal, numerical and spatial abilities. It is essential for reasoning because your capacity to think logically is based on your perception of the logic around you. -
Hi ilovelaksa, I was surprised when my girl came home to tell me. All her classmates who brought 2 calculators are asked to put the extra approved with stickers to their bag. So they walked back to put back. End up my girl chose to use the new calculator we bought and lucky we bought the same version so that she is familiar in using. So learning point, next time must ask the school teacher to confirm if 2 calculators are allowed.

There was no problem on our side to use 2 approved calculators during PSLE exam.

2.1 The ESIS are awarded to Singaporean students who are in the top one-third of the total number of Secondary 1 students admitted to all IS, based on PSLE results (before bonus points).
2.2 It is also awarded to Primary 6 Gifted Education Programme (GEP) Singaporean students who meet the P6 GEP promotion criteria and are enrolled in the Integrated Programme (IP) of an IS at S12.

It is 1/3 of ALL admitted to independent schools. So say last yr's ESIS cut-off was 260, so all those who scored 260 and above will get it, regardless of whether they are top 1/3 of RI.Swc\" post_id=\"1938282\" time=\"1569668809\" user_id=\"178585:

It is top 1/3 of those admitted to Independent Schools.
per Independent school -
so doesn't mean that those scored >= 260 will definitely get ESIS in RI, if let's say this 260 student happen to fall outside Top 1/3 of entire 2019 Sec 1 cohort bracket, inside RI
this year Total, how many RI 2019 Sec 1 students (born 2006) ?
Top 1/3 of RI Sec 1 cohort, means approximately ... how many students ?
I think my friend's son had 266 last year. Don't think he's eligible for ESIS.
The only explanation is your friend's son not Singaporean or did not apply to Independent School.
Please note not all IP schools are Independent Schools. -

What swc has posted is correct.
So is it top 2% or top one third of the psle cohort for ESIP if for 6 years integrated program? How many psle kids roughly every year sittin for exam?Swc\" post_id=\"1938217\" time=\"1569652866\" user_id=\"178585:
ESIS is a scholarship offered by MOE. It is given to top 1/3 of all sec 1 students eligible for Independent Schools. So yes, the cut-off for ESIS is different every year.
ESIS is offered for 6 years and as long as you get promoted to the next level and exhibit good conduct, you can continue receiving ESIS.
However, besides ESIS, RI offers school-based scholarships and other financial assistance. These are not spelt out on their website coz it is on a case-by-case basis. The best way to find out what type of financial assistance is available to your child is to call up RI. They will be more than happy to give you the details. And yes, there are financial assistance that goes beyond just covering school fees. -

How many independent schools are there? Assuming 400 intake in each school? So 1/3 multipy by 400 multiply by no. of independent schools?
