2.1 The ESIS are awarded to Singaporean students who are in the top one-third of the total number of Secondary 1 students admitted to all IS, based on PSLE results (before bonus points).

2.2 It is also awarded to Primary 6 Gifted Education Programme (GEP) Singaporean students who meet the P6 GEP promotion criteria and are enrolled in the Integrated Programme (IP) of an IS at S12.

      https://www.moe.gov.sg/education/edusave/edusave-scholarships-for-independent-schools-%28esis%29

How many independent schools are there? Assuming 400 intake in each school? So 1/3 multipy by 400 multiply by no. of independent schools?

So about 1600 students will get ESIS.

Maybe I'll call RI and check with them the possibility of getting ESIS
RI can't tell you this at this point in time. The school is not the one to set who gets ESIS. MOE is the one who determines it. And this also depends on the T-score performance of the cohort.

What RI can advise you is the type of school-based financial assistance.

Anyone have their math minused a lot? Like 15?[/quote]
once minus away 15 marks, means reach 85, a bit difficult to achieve A * anymore, because too far away

if raw score say, 88 or 89, still close to 91 although below 91, still possible to grasp A *, after adjustment (moderation) for P6 cohort

            Chen Laoshi,

Do you have all the past years CL picture composition since the year you collected for my reference ?

            jj_1808,

I have done a quick scan and uploaded them on https://chenlaoshi.wixsite.com/psleprepclass under Curriculum --> \"历届会考看图作文图片2008-2018\"

            Thanks

for your question on whether should accept CO or not, perhaps wait until this Tuesday after Science is over, then sit down with your child, discuss overall for 4 subjects, how he (she) fared ?
By then, with 4 subjects over, u will have a better picture, your decision-making become clearer, because now we only half-way through the battle

There is no need to mention that \"the script is adapted based from ... ...\". Also, if they need the student to state relevant fee, they will be clearer in their question. 好朋友 does not definitely means he/she must be a child ($15). If fee is required, they will state detailed information like 你六年级的同学志文 or 你的好朋志文友今年十岁 etc.

For note writing question (4 marks), language is worth 2 marks and content is worth 2 marks.

If 便条 just instruct you to 邀请 and did not mention anything along the line of 告诉他活动详情/报名详情... ... then do not include extra information. However, if the question states that you and your friend have signed up for the activity and your task is to 提醒他关于这项活动... ... etc. then you do need to state the date, time, venue.
Hi chenlaoshi, I wonder why we don't need include a short backgrounder of the drama that was adapted from the children's novel. Won't it be rather terse if you just invite your buddy to a \"abc\" drama with no \"舞台剧的详情“ per question requirement ? 🤷

Also, since the performers are all kiddos 小朋友 from that drama school, I'd infer that buddy is also a kiddo ($15). If not sure, maybe just tell buddy both ticket prices, if case he's bringing his parents? Will 0.5m be deducted if I include the Adult price for buddy's info?

I'd be kiasu to include the relevant registration details for buddy to secure 4 marks. Your proposed biantiao probably only garners 2 - 2.5 marks because 90% of your words were lifted from the question and the date, time, venue.

Yes, what you have described is Exactly how our school teachers mark. That is, if the (便条/书信/短信) question does not ask for that information, marks will be deducted when we write extra...

                    zeit,

I see your point (from a logical/realistic note writing point of view).

However, exam purpose wise, at this stage, the focus is on adhering strictly to the stated tasks/instruction. This note writing question is a very brief 'intro' for Sec sch 实用文 (email writing).

Compared to compre section, kiasu-ism is a big no-no for this note writing question. As mentioned, for this component, language/grammar is /2 marks, content is /2 marks. Adding extra information will be considered as \"ham-tam\". I think many parents will notice their child not being able to achieve full marks partly because of this issue.

Regarding lifting of words, that's actually part of the technique that is applied - maximize the use of text/content given + retrieve relevant/required points from the graphic stimulus.

But teacher won't deduct marks for additional relevant \"详情“ for the recipient, will she? Of course I don't mean plonk in all the redundant contact details of that lady, school group booking details, etc. Doing the latter will definitely cause you to be penalised. But at least a URL of the website for his buddy should be ok in this case, right? After all, basic registration details and ticket price constitute as \"详情\" for buddy so he can decide whether to accept your invitation or not. lol.

OT: Lifting isn't allowed in OEQ I think. Must do S&T.

Is anyone familiar with the marking criteria for math long answer qn? If the answer is correct, but the methods/ steps shown are entirely wrong, will there be any mark given?

                        Afaik,
Method wrong answer right no marks
Method right answer wrong partial marks
Method right answer right ofc full marks
                        Method not important

Can i check.for eggtart qn. My gal 1st part she put 34 as She did not add the 6 eggtarts at the end. But 2nd part she got $1.80. Out of 5 marks how many marks will be awarded cos her working i assume correct.
