Number 2 obviously. It can't possibly float on water unless the mass is really very low

Some primary schools offer Maths Olympiad training to the high-ability students as early as Primary 2 or 3. When these children reach upper primary, they will be sent for MO competitions. Students with MO competition experience will be used to challenging MO Maths questions and able to breeze through in PSLE Maths.

          hi sembgal,

Yes, we 2019 P6 parents (born 2007) are fully aware that MO training start as early as beginning of P2.
Many P6 parents already know, what u wrote is not something new to us

What we want (try) to point out is -
Yes, students can use their MO Gold / Platinum / Silver / Bronze or whatever championship results they obtained, to apply for DSA into Top schools. Under DSA, u can use any cert or medal or award, to showcase your Maths talent, to whichever DSA school u applying for. That comes under DSA exercise.

However, now we are talking about something else, ie. a National PSLE Written exam paper

it is Not fair for SEAB to set so many 4 m or 5 m questions, that are slanted towards MO style of questions,
because Majority of average, (Non-GEP and Non-High ability ) P6 students did NOT receive FREE in-house MO training, apart, from the 2 privileged group : (GEP students + High ability Mainstream students)

Since a forummer mentioned somewhere before, under this thread, that SEAB had set PSLE exam questions 2 years ago, and knowing that many P6 students have no opportunity to attend MO training, yet the slant of PSLE heavy weightage 4 m or 5 m questions is towards Heuristics / MO style of questions, at the very least, minimum, SEAB or MOE ought to have informed ALL P6 students, via their Maths HOD or via their own Maths Class Teachers in school, to alert ALL 2019 P6 students in advance (from January 2019, Term 1) that

          - MO style of questions, IS INCLUDED and will be Tested, inside 2019 PSLE Maths examination syllabus.

          And

NOT just remain, keep quiet, many P6 students do not know, not aware, until last Friday (27 Sep), then appeared, got stunned, stoned, etc. If MOE had informed P6 student in the beginning of this year 2019 January P6, at least, students still have one full year ahead to prepare, by going for outside MO training, even if they are Not selected by their own school to attend free training, because they do Not fall under the \"High-ability\" category. They fall only under the \"Average\" or \"Mixed-Ability\" Mainstream (Non-GEP) category

In my opinion, MOE is not at liberty to share what SEAB will test the pupils but MO questions are nothing strange to MO kids and the purpose why such a difficult exam is set could be to test the determination and resilence of the pupils. Don’t get defeated at one exam. There is so much more in life which one has no control over so why ponder about things beyond our control and instead let the bell curve moderate the T-score. Have an early rest everyone.

Opps, I was under the impression that the school rule was regarding bringing (带)of handphone to school. Seems like it’s regarding using (使用)of handphone instead, thus I commented 明知故犯 😓

For disagree, points to mention should cover the following to earn full marks:
            - 虽然这样做帮了朋友(免得被... ...)不过自己却(被记过、感到委屈...)
            - 老师并没有亲眼看到作者或朋友使用手机
            - 应该向老师老师解释清楚

            What the :censored: ?????

Actually, I think that the bell curve for chinese will go up because it was easy for many people. So in order to get back the marks that you would probably lose if u did not do as well, should do well for a difficult science paper. Tbh I’m hoping for a more difficult science paper so the bell curve will go down and it will be easier to score a*

Tomorrow is the last paper (Science)? I foresee there will be children coming out of the exam hall crying tomorrow.

My two girls took the psle in 2017 (hard) and 2018 (easy). So this year’s PSLE is gonna be hard and next year’s gonna to be an easy one. I don’t know who told me that but from this year’s discussion in the forum, it seems to be the case.
