Is it true that kids who have Math Olympiad training usually will be selected for Gep?

Not necessarily so. Math is only one of the components tested. There’s also English.

Well, you will know the answer in less than 2 months’ time. Whether they clear round 1 or not. Come and tell us here ok?

I always remember a friend very ‘confidently’ told me her child will get 250s for psle not too long after successfully cleared round 1…I was blur then…now think back there is a tell tale there…the child will belong to x% I believe…

                    Not true.

90% of my child's GEP class do not ever have any Math Olympiad training and some of them are Math Olympiad gold medallists.

I am very sorry that I can hardly believe that Math Olympiad gold medallists are not trained.
The topics are way in advance compared with the current syllabus especially RIPMWC. With the time constraint, there will be no time to \"fiddle around\". (Typically 2-3 min per question)
Even NMos is pitched at the P5 level, how can P4 students, without training, win anything?
There will be one way or another of training, either at home by parents or at enrichment class by tutors.

Okay, I read my own thread again, feeling I am too narrow-minded... 😓 There could be those top 0.25% that are out of my imagination...

Not true. But those stronger in math will probably have a liking for the MO style of questions.
