is not a matter of \"fierce\", but trying to stand up for myself
So fierce. Is this accepted for forum etiquette? Is this hardware zone? :nunchuk:
Relax....
you yourself know better, deep inside you, why u do this, because this is Not the first time.
And those people who know me well, long enough in this forum, know that i don't go around kick up fuss.
If this is the first time u do this to me, i would have let it go. But this is not the first time
MerlioninGermany, can see that you are a smart woman.
From the way u replied this forum, indeed you have covered yourself well.

Hi
Just wondering, which are the common colleges the JC students go to in US to pursue computing?
I am not referring to stanford or caltech. like what other good colleges are there? not necessarily MIT.
Is there a thread for US colleges? tks!
Again, I agree with a parent here that it is better to pose this question elsewhere - Tertiary Education section. -

hi littleprince,
Does anyone know what is the pre-requisite for the student to be able to study either Biology-Chemistry-Math-Econs or Chemistry-Physics-Math-Econs at year 5 at these schools such as RI, NJC, HCI? Having this information would be good for us to decide whether to select these schools for the S1 exercise, knowing that it is going to be very competitive there
for St Nick Secondary school, All students must buy a Secondary school \"diary\".
Students purchase the diary, from school book-shop.
Inside this school diary, in the front few pages, diary printed out the Promotional criteria clearly, for each year, for both (OP and IP) stream
example
from end of Sec 1, what is the criteria to be promoted into Sec 2,
... etc
from end of Year 4 (IP), into Year 5 (Eunoia Junior College)
i am not sure, whether there is such a similar school diary for Secondary IP schools (RI / Hwa Chong / NJC)
if happen to have one, perhaps u may check the content inside, see whether got print out any similar Promotional criteria.
Besides school diary, perhaps can also check if (RI / Hwa Chong / National JC) have any Secondary students' Instruction Manual, or something similar.
After checked both, if still don't have such info, then the last resort (no choice) is, to call up the school, request to speak to the Vice-Principal in charge (of Academic affairs), Not speak to the Vice-Principal in charge (of Administrative student affair), ask all those \"burning\" questions that you have, clear up your mind, so that u can choose the right, appropriate school, for your son. Do not be afraid to ask the VP questions. Just politely tell VP that, your son going to choose a Secondary school soon, and there are certain things u would like to know about the school. From there, carry on .. -

I don't think there is pre-requisite to study BCME or PCME at Ri. I think it's the most common subject combi there. The recommended gpa to take 4 H2 subjects is 3.2(out of 4.0), but it's not compulsory to get gpa of 3.2 to take 4H2 subjects.

By the way, the below article points out a little-known fact: 50 is not the passing mark for PSLE. So your friendโs son may actually pass and do โwellโ enough to go to N(T) stream.
hi sky,
have a friend whose kid P6 this year, faced learning difficulty, from a rich family.
This child had been failing all 4 subjects, since P1 to P6, in all (SA1, SA2) exam.
Although child faced learning difficulty, but MOE did not grant him exemption (Chinese).
So, he still took Standard Chinese PSLE paper (1 and 2) recently, on Monday (30 Sep 2019)
Ever advised parent to let child take Foundation Chinese, instead of Standard Chinese.
However, parent initially did consider, but in the end, dropped the idea.
6 years ago, back then in 2014 Primary 1, this child could have joined a local Primary school, dedicated to handle education for special need kids. (won't mention the name of the primary school, here)
i told parents that that good local special-need primary school, would benefit child, long term wise.
However, because this parent is a very senior key personnel working in a highly visible, high-powered organization, because of \"face\" issue, parent insisted that child go study in a GEP primary school, because parent is an alumni from a coveted GEP school, so enrolled child into GEP primary school.
Based on recent August 2019 P6 Prelim, child also failed all 4 subjects. Each subject, scored way below 50 / 100
parent think likely this child will fail 2019 PSLE.
As a result, parent think that likely, child be channelled into a \"local Secondary school, dedicated for students who failed PSLE\", via MOE S1 posting results.
However, parent don't want child to go into this local Secondary school, because of \"face\" issue.
Parents don't want relatives nor office colleagues, to know that child going to be posted there.
Due to learning difficulty, child not independent, the parents won't send child to overseas boarding school
question
from above sharing, since this child's rich parents can afford, is it better to
- homeschool him, or
- send child to a \"ACS / HCI / SJI\" International School, for secondary education ?
($ is not any issue to them, because parents are rich businessmen )
โIn other words, the student will pass with these minimum marks: 20 in English and in Mathematics, 19 and below in Science and in Mother Tongue. Therefore, 50 was never the passing mark for each subject.โ

Thank you for the information. If there really isn't any pre-requisite, we would have more courage to aim for this school

While packing the assessment books, I found a Math question similar to the PSLE question 17 on triangle pattern.
