Hello parents, I am currently within 1-2km of SJIJ. Based on my observation, it seems like for the previous years, <1km is a safe bet (pls correct me if i'm wrong!). Hence, I am pondering the option of securing a rental unit to boost my chances for SJIJ. Question: when do I have to execute this move (ie: timeline to reflect new address on NRIC bcos I understand that 30months starts from the day my son enrols into p1) and also whether it is a good move to even do so?

My other option would be to enrol under 2A1 for RMPS but I am hesitant due to the distance plus my husband's workplace is in Newton, so moving closer to Novena seems like a more feasible option.

Thank you so much for the advice. 🙂
Assuming you are a SG citizen and your son is a SG citizen
Address has to be 30 months from start date of P1 registration process. This year the date was 3 July 2019 for kids entering P1 from 2 Jan 2020.

Hi all, need some advise here.

Kid is currently in Moe kindy. This year entry to P1 was very safe as the number of k2 are fewer than take up slots. However for k1, seems like the intake will be facing balloting next year.

Anyone faced such balloting before for moe kindy?

Will be moving away from the area when the kid turns p3. If really need to go through phase 2C, should I try for the same sch or new area sch?

Any idea if I am qualified to use the new area address? Can appeal? Cause it’s not within 2 years but 3 years.

Can the use of address be different at different phases?

        Thanks in adv,
        Mumkoh

Not all K1 / K2 will proceed to the attached primary school. Some will utilize Phase 1 / 2A1 / 2A2 for other schools. Apart for a very small handful of MK, none are located in popular primary school that faces balloting in earlier phases (ie before Phase 2C).

I don’t think your new address qualifies for Phase 2C and 2 years is already being very generous.

            Thanks floppy!

Hopefully there would not be any surprises on balloting in early phases before phase 2C.

            Keeping my fingers crossed.

My take is, as long as the MK is not Westwood, Horizon or Sengkang Green, there shouldn’t be any surprises before 2C.

Ok I’m going for one of the 3 you mentioned.

Do I need to start worrying? Panic button activated.

MK is Phase 2A2. Still very unlikely to ballot.

Phase 1 max is not more than 60%. Insignificant number for Phase 2A1. Can’t see how Phase 2A2 will end up balloting.

Ok cause the sudden increase intake was due to the announcement of MK included in phase 2A2. Even the MK have waiting list.

Any idea if happened to need ballot, is the balloting priority based on distance like Phase 2C?

Yes, same. Singapore citizens have priority over PR. If more citizen applicants than vacancies, then distance priority will kick in.

                        Hello all,

I read from MOE website that phrase 2A(2) is for "You or another child of yours have previously studied in your preferred school."

Does anyone knows whether it matters how long I studied in the school previously? For example, if I studied in the school for first half year in Primary 1 only, will I be able to enroll my kid to the school under Phrase 2A(2)?

I tried to email the school to enquire but I did not get a response.

                        Thanks in advance!
