Hi People,

I know it’s abit late now but can anyone Guess the range for my T-Score?

EL: 86-87 (fall under AL 2)

CL: 80-82 (fall under AL 3)

MA: 98-100 (fall under AL 1)

SC: 85-87 (fall under AL 2)

:thankyou:

About 261

Total AL score = 2 + 3 + 1 + 2 = 8 points

with 261 (Tscore system) :
student can still enter RGS / RI, under S1 posting

difference ?

But, with AL8 points,
student may not be able to enter RGS (RI), from Y2021 onwards, if RGS (RI) Cut-off-point is less than 8 points

As such, we would anticipate many 2021 P6 students (current 2019 P4 students) applying for DSA, in Y2021

HMT step in only, if apply for SAP Secondary schools. Otherwise, no impact
RGS / RI are Non-SAP schools, hence HMT not applicable

HMT : Higher Mother tongue

About 261

What I am trying to say is, high 250 to 261 is reasonable. So then AL8 may not be top 10%. the criteria of hmt may be raised.

Why would the criteria for Higher Chinese change, due to Tscore changed to AL ?

All along, Higher Chinese score has been

+ 1 point (pass) : 51 to 64

+2 point (merit) : 65 to 79

+ 3 point (distinction) : 80 and above

Hi 6thisnthat9,

suggest that since your above questions posed concern more for 2021 AL batch of students, perhaps u may prefer to re post your qn, into the correct thread

https://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?f=69&t=92230&start=70

Because

Our 2019 psle batch still remain under the old Tscore system, going to be phased out soon, Tscore become ancient dinosair soon, plus the HMT issue which u newly raised, has to do with more with the new AL, not Tscore anymore. Moreover, many parents are more concerned with the new AL working, since they have younger children there taking psle from 2021 onwards

Thank you, for co- operation

4 very high As also can get 261. Not necessary must have A* in order to get high T-score.

Only apply to Tscore system

Under AL, 4 very high As means 89 per subject. 89 fall under AL 2, will still end up with Total 8 AL points

89 is not easy, to achieve
If Chinese is weak, anything below 80 marks, can easily clock up 4 or 5 AL points liao, just for 1 subject alone. Some more, Chinese got so many components involved : Oral, zuowen, and many more components, inside Paper 2 itself

As this AL clock up points very easily, it is not easy to get 6 points and below. Hence, forsee many 2021 P6 students will apply for DSA

correct

That's why better for parents who wish to discuss AL, under the relevant, pioneering 2021 PSLE thread, because it really impact them

About 261

Ok, back to Tscore, since our 2019 S1 posting is still entry by Tscore

above 4 subjects score are very good !

With 261, can go to several IP schools, except NYGH (around COP 265), because above 4 scores might not reach (hit) 265. But if not targeting NYGH, no issue, can go to any IP school
