Like to ask for DSA, must the child be in primary school CCA of the particular sport (eg floorball) in order to apply to secondary school for that DSA?
No need, but you have demonstrable ability in that sport, ie you should be in a club level or national level if you aren’t in the primary school CCA (maybe due to the primary school not offering the CCA).

Do you mean my child has to be affiliated with a club before DSA application? Currently he's taking private lessons from a coach.

Isn’t it a bit too late to start the child on independent travel at 12?

Currently he's taking private lessons from a coach.[/quote]Let’s put it this way, anyone can apply to DSA to any school in any talent area, regardless whether you have the talent or not. At the end of the day, the school will assess how well you fit in with the school, and whether your “talent” is what the school requires.

All sports in secondary schools are of a competitive nature, floorball included. If you have never played in a competitive arena, be it as part of a school team or as part of a club team, how can the school be certain that you will be able to contribute in an actual competition when the time comes?

it depend on how u train your child

some parents trained their kids from young, independent.
As early as P2 / P3, some kids take public bus, go to school on their own, come back by bus on their own

In contrast, some kids live very sheltered, protective life.
Day in, day out, they get zipped around in cars
Even up to P6 (12 years old), some never even allowed to go shopping centre, without their parents accompanied.
Even if their school-mates were to accompany, some parents also don't allow.
And when they go tuition, their maids will follow, if their parents not free to drive them tuition

Publish article for taking MRT at 12? I guess the parent have much time to spare, cos there will be many more to write.
