How do I check if a Chinese universty, not amongst the C9, is recognised here?

I think the question would be in what field?

      Sorry, missed your question. Chemistry.

        Thank you zeit.

Am looking at Science degree, eg Chemistry, Biotech, Food Science etc. Since professional bodies recognition is not required, should be fine if it is a Project 985/211 or their MOE recognised university?
Yes, because of govt funding, these Double First Class 985/211 universities have better facilities.

I think Tianjin University and East China Science & Tech University are top in Chemistry according to Zhihu.

Otherwise, Xiamen, Wuhan, Sichuan are also ok.

It's important to pick a city that the child can live in. Tianjin is very liveable. There're Singaporeans there and it's very near to Beijing.
East China is smack in bustling Xuhui in Shanghai, so the student won't feel lonely.

            Looking at Xiamen and Wuhan.

Also looking at Xi’an Jiao Tong Liverpool University but am not sure it is recognised. It is recognised by the Royal Society of Chemistry.

A friend recommended University of Nottingham Ningbo as well.

No offense to anyone, but one thing I don’t like about China universities is that many of them have adopted facial recognition technology to mark students’ attendance. China’s beginning to turn ‘Orwellian’ under the current president. Everything’s cashless and paid through Alipay, etc and even applying a China mobile no requires you to let the telco take your frontal+side portraits. They are keeping track of your every move. I dislike this sort of learning and working environment.

Another thing is, be prepared that the child will start to develop that ‘China mindset’ after spending her tweenage years with the Chinese who are known to be extremely nationalistic. I don’t like my teenager to be moulded in that Neo-Maoist manner. There are many signs that China is going left and reviving Maoism.

I still prefer western universities that promote democracy & freedom, and if not SG ones are also good.

Not sure abt others parts of China, but Ningbo has a strong chemical/petrochemical industrial park which will offer opportunities for collaboration and internship.
It is abt 3hrs to Shanghai by road/train.
