They are refering to Guangyang Secondary school, not from Guanyang primary after psle go River Valley high
Oh I meant some students will choose seconday school where COP is below their PSLE score by a huge margin.
For various reasons I guess. DC friend was 278 back in 2015, and went in RV, now in triple science class.peasants\" post_id=\"1948092\" time=\"1574427274\" user_id=\"75885:

i believe ur interpretation is incorrect. T-score with HMT bonus points included are tteated like raw score for admission priority into SAP schools regardless IP or not.Timmy21\" post_id=\"1948091\" time=\"1574427207\" user_id=\"122721:

The higher your raw Tscore, you will enter first
If 2019 COP for River Valley High is indeed 252 this year, then
252 +0 (those never taken HCL), will enter into RV (IP) first, before any
251 +1 (pass, for HCL), who will in turn also enter into RV (IP) first, before any
250 +2 (merit, for HCL)
It is your original Raw T-score, that take precedence first
Seriously, so my tscore will 250+2 =252 if I apply for SAP sch and not 250+2..... now I can see some light
go for it! u stand a decent chance to get into RV. -

some scored 188 can still choose Express stream. There are a few classes for Express stream
Perhaps, check what talent programme does Guangyang Secondary offer, since there are students with 250+ also inside. Nowadays, a number of Secondary schools offer interesting Applied learning programme -

Thanks so much for sharing! Typically, parents compare COP of the secondary school, and try to apply a school that their child meet the min COP -2 to -3 pts or up to +10 pts... very curious why a student with 250+ applied a school with min188 COP since there are so many other choices...so I thought there must be something that Guangyang school is good with... Its great to have experts like u and Phtthp to share:) I am going to their open house tml to find out more, though my son's score is far above the min COP (not 250 kind though), but dont mind to put it as one of the options in consideration of proximity to home.
What’s your definition of a good school?weiwei816\" post_id=\"1948068\" time=\"1574420917\" user_id=\"57825:

There are various reasons. Sometimes people don’t mind a school next to their place as convenience override all other concerns. Besides, if you frequent Bishan often, you will realize that Guangyang students, despite the seemingly low COP, aren’t those problematic type and reasonably well behaved.
FWIW, one of my best had a score of 260+. Could have gone to HCI (then known as TCHS) but went to a neighborhood school with an equivalent COP of COP 188. He didn’t make the selection - his grandmother / mother, who are not well-educated, did. Nonetheless, he was too lazy to change it (during my times, those who qualify for SAP can change after results announced). Needless to say, he’s the best student in the school by a mile. Went on to JC and Uni. In the end, didn’t hurt him a bit TBH. -
Can i check: i understand hmt gives bonus points for application to sap schools…does this bonus point apply to both op n ip track?

Yes. As long as sap schools. Does not matter whether IP or O level track
