Generally, most students would benefit if their score is close to the median, i.e. they are not too strong and not too weak relative to their cohort. Since schools typically set their pace according to the strength of their cohort, the student is unlikely to have to slow down considerably for their weaker school mates or to speed up to catch up with their stronger mates.
      Agree. Very important consideration.
In sec/JC, itโ€™s not only academics that a child needs to handle.

If based on Prelim results (Total aggregate x 0.75), How far is the PSLE results compared to Prelim? Can someone share some statistic? Mine is +14

        My youngest child is +40.
I find it strange that teachers like to use this predictor. It does no good whether prediction is high or low.
Thankfully his older sibs were all +30-+40
Otherwise he wld be so demoralised.

wow, +40 is quite amazing n rare but commendable. i can juz imagine the reactions of teachers n frens when they find out tat the student's T-score went fr 230 to 272 ๐Ÿ˜‚

Mine is very accurate tho, I got the same score as when I calculated my prelim times 0.75

          Mine is very closed, 0.75+2.

Are they in the same Pri sch?
Does it mean this Pri sch set tough prelim papers?

Both my boys prelims to psle were 0.72.

Just wondering... Most mention distance as a factor in school selection...any parents here of older kids who travel to school?
Or anyone who does not mind the travel time and is considering a school that requires travel?
What would you consider as an OK traveling time?
Heng suay, if choice school is near then good, if it is far, then bite it. Distance is never a deterrent. Both dc, one is far, more than an hour. The other is near.

Just curious, IP schs only do 6-year IB dip, so their O level track is never a 4-year IB right? So why pay so much for the same O level KN ACS, MGS, SJI, etc.

@phtthp. I don't have the enrolment number for German, but it looks similar to the French one if you infer from staff strength:
                      https://www.moelc.moe.edu.sg/contact-us/

Spanish is easier but limited vacancies; German is more difficult but seems to have more vacancies. You don't need to pass (passing marks ~60%) third language to be promoted to the next year's class. Moelc just wants everyone to stay in the course as long as they can. (My understanding from them all is that,) So long as your own secondary school allows you to take third language (your sec school will review your overall progress usually at the end of Year2), you can do so from Years1-4 (without worrying too much).[/quote]
                      :thankyou:
