Does anyone know if MGS IB accepts student from another IP school during Y3 admission? What is the rate of admission? And what is the number of students from MGS O levels successfully transferred to IB at Y3?

For the submission of sec 1 options, must we fill everything up?can we just fill up only the first four?

Hi, i think the important thing is you have to be very sure your T score will land u in one of the 4 (or 6 if u do fill up an additional 2) choices.

Do take note that the COP given in the secondary school selection booklet is that of the previous year, the actual COP for your batch can either go up or down. -

My kids have’ friends who travel for 2 hrs a day ONE way! Personally I think it is too much. When CCA ends at 7, reach home at 9. Sometimes the kids ended up taking taxi because they are too tired. Just wondering... Most mention distance as a factor in school selection...any parents here of older kids who travel to school?
Or anyone who does not mind the travel time and is considering a school that requires travel?
What would you consider as an OK traveling time?
I think 45 min one way, door to door is max. It is really tiring as many still have to do homework after they get home.
What is considered an OK travelling time really depends on individual. However, do take note that your child will be staying in school for much longer hours. 3 to 4 days staying till 6 plus can be quite common in secondary school. So you have to ask yourself of you are fine with your child spending an hour travelling home from school after he or she has spent 10 or more hours in school. -

Hi, just need some clarifications,
DS score 259 +3(HCL). His 1st choice RI (COP 258). 2nd choice HCI (COP 259)
If he is rejected by RI, will he be chosen for HCI based on 259+3 (262) or will other pupils whose score is 260 & 261 be given priority if they choose HCI as their first choice? Thank you 😊 -

Based on your example (above),
assuming that
2019 RI COP = 2018 RI COP = 258,
And your son's 259 first choice is RI, and his 259 is higher than RI 258 (COP), then your son will be allocated into RI. -

Hi Phtthp, thanks for your reply. But in the event that RI up their COP n rejects DS, then will DS be considered for HCI based on 259+3 (262) or will other pupils whose score is 260 or 261 be given priority as they put HCI as their first choice?

For HCI, the T-score used for application becomes 262.
Order of choices does not matter for this year.
