2019 PSLE Discussions and Strategies (Children born in 2007)

My kids haveโ friends who travel for 2 hrs a day ONE way! Personally I think it is too much. When CCA ends at 7, reach home at 9. Sometimes the kids ended up taking taxi because they are too tired. A boy we know will do homework in MRT.
I think 45 min one way, door to door is max. It is really tiring as many still have to do homework after they get home. -
Hi, just need some clarifications,
DS score 259 +3(HCL). His 1st choice RI (COP 258). 2nd choice HCI (COP 259)
If he is rejected by RI, will he be chosen for HCI based on 259+3 (262) or will other pupils whose score is 260 & 261 be given priority if they choose HCI as their first choice? Thank you ๐ -

Based on your example (above),
assuming that
2019 RI COP = 2018 RI COP = 258,
And your son's 259 first choice is RI, and his 259 is higher than RI 258 (COP), then your son will be allocated into RI. -

Hi Phtthp, thanks for your reply. But in the event that RI up their COP n rejects DS, then will DS be considered for HCI based on 259+3 (262) or will other pupils whose score is 260 or 261 be given priority as they put HCI as their first choice?

Order of choices does not matter for this year. -

1) scenario 1
DS score 259 +3(HCL).
His 1st choice RI (COP 258).
2nd choice HCI (COP 259)
But in the event that RI up their COP n rejects DS, then will DS be considered for HCI based on 259+3 (262) or will other pupils whose score is 260 or 261 be given priority as they put HCI as their first choice?
If 2019 RI also up their COP to 259,
and your son also equal 259, then your son will enter RI first, since he has met the RI COP (259), unless his trailing decimal point 259.xxx happen to be even lower than that of the very last candidate's Tscore who entered RI
2) scenario 2
If 2019 RI also up their COP to 260, then your son cannot enter RI, at 259, one point lesser.
If 2019 HCI COP = 259,
your son's 259 +3 (262), higher than 259, can enter HCI, together along with other candidates whose COP are 260 or 261, and have also applied HCI -

With a spanking new campus, Iโm curious about RGSโ COP for this year.

Thank you Phtthp, iRabbit and mommyNg for the clarifications, really appreciate it. Was trying to get DS to put HCI as his 1st choice (more secured) but he insisted on trying for RI first. ๐ So I was initially worried that rank of choices matters in the posting.

Should be up bah. +2? +3? +5?? After all itโs a brand new campus leh.

Today my DD1 went to help out at SCGS open house. DD1 said it was packed with people. Many thronged the newly opened underpass from
Steven station right into the school. Everyone was curious about new school facilities / new expansion building and whether the sec and Pri share the same canteen etc. No one asked about the curriculum, lol.
