Hi
If we select an affiliation school (eg: CHIJ) where childrens in secondary will be mostly from affiliated primary school, does it have impact in terms of grouping/friends and socialization for Non affiliated school students (as their percentage is very slim).
Please share , if anyone have any experience on this ?
Thanks in advance. -

Choice doesn't matter. The one with the higher t score will get his/her place first.
Let say School A has COP of 228, base on the following 4 students. Who will get a place in School A first?
Amy scores 230 choose School A as 2nd choice
Clare scores 238 choose School A as 3rd choice
John scores 228 choose School A as 1st choice
Ken scores 231 choose School A as 1st choice -

E.g.
If they group by Tscore,
then regardless of whether u are Non-affliated pupil or Affliated ex primary-school pupil, still end up in the same 2020 Sec 1 class, still got to interact with one another, through group project assignments -
Agree with MerlionInGermany.
My kids did not show interest when they had the chance in Year 1. We decided not to even coax them to try for a year. Just because given an opportunity, does not mean must take it now. If keen to do 3rd language next time, just pay some $ to take private.
My kids used the time to R&R and spend more time in CCA which they are passionate about. Both went on to international competitions and won big time.MerlionInGermany\" post_id=\"1948430\" time=\"1574515328\" user_id=\"2964:
I am of the opinion that if there is no interest, just skip it and dont take. Most will take and try it for a while but if there is no interest, why go through all that? If there is little interest, then maybe try for a while. No interest, just skip. Saves travelling time, and have more time for other things (school work/ rest/ other interests). For some schools, the 3rd lang day is a fixed day, so the school day ends early on 3rd lang days, and then you see how most of them have to rush through lunch so that they can make it to the MOELC on time...and then those not doing 3rd lang can eat leisurely. 3rd lang add 2 or 3 days for cca, means every other day is a long day.NKTan\" post_id=\"1948400\" time=\"1574510847\" user_id=\"181287:
Thanks for your advise. But I am not sure how heavy the workload is and how demanding it can get. My girl is the eldest so I don’t have any benchmark in mind. And She isn’t keen to take up 3rd language. But of course, I am still trying to find out more before the deadline submission date. She has DSAed into IP track so my main concern is her ability to cope. Or should I encourage her to try out one term if there is no minimum period requirement? Thanks so much for your time and advise.

Hi parents, for the “choosing your secondary schools in 2020”that booklet, the page where RV is,there is a section where the COP is shown.I am asking this question because the same page says that RV is an IP school, but they only give COP section for express instead of IP,is something wrong?

Asking for a friend. Please share your views.
Kid is in the NA/NT range. They did not want NT. But NA means only a few schools in the town they live in and they went open houses for schools in 3 nearest towns.
But they want “nice” facilities and interesting ALP. Did not like some older looking schools or those with “sleepy” vibes. Don’t mind travelling for 60-90 min on bus one way.
All these are their words. They don’t know how to elaborate what “sleepy” or “nice” means.
I thought it is more important to look at subject combo and CCAs. But kid is really weak in all subjects. No strength or talent.
Even if school has Leadership prog, ALP Science related, competitions etc… Low chance that kid will be selected. Agree?
My recommendation is to pick a decent enough school nearby. -
