Perhaps the Sch is trying to dovetail with RGS in this aspect.

Yes, I heard this during the open house, I believe during the DSA talk. I was very impressed, as I assumed the teachers offer enough support to all the students including the weaker ones, so all could promote and remain in IP. It didn’t occur to me that this is due to easing of promotion criteria.

Promo benchmark is still set at 60%. What the Sch removed were the mandatory requirements to pass Philo and Research Edu, and taking only 6 (Core 5 + 1) instead of 8 subjects into GPA calculation for Y3/4 iirc.

My kid got above 260which is above the COP of the school of her choice
A school COP 258
B school COP 256

1st choice: B
2nd choice:A

So she will be allocate to her 1st choice straight away eventhough her 2nd choice has a higher cut off point?

Remind all forumers tat the first statement about the Sch has COP of XXX is juz historical info as a guide. The Sch doesnt pre-set any COP. Think of it as the MOE supercomputer first ranks all nationwide students by T-score in descending order, then processes No.1 student's first choice. Only after posting No.1 student to his school will the computer process No.2 student. It is completely based on merit, meaning the n+1 student must wait for the n student to be posted before it is his turn. So even if the n+1 student puts ABC sch as first choice, the n student who puts ABC sch as sixth choice still gets priority to be posted to ABC.

Whoever has the Highest Tscore, will enter your School A first, before any others, because T-score is based on Merit.

If got place, allocate B, if not, it will look at Ken's third choice School C, etc. etc. Once Ken has been allocated a school, the system will go to the next person e.g., 227.

Her second choice sch MIGHT NOT have a higher COP in the CURRENT year. The COP was for previous years, and no school pre-sets the COP for this year.
Lets say XYZ school plans to take in 280 students. The current year's COP for XYZ school will be the Tscore of the 280th admitted student.
