I se some comment above stating that the choice priorities is not important, so I have a question

My kid got above 260which is above the COP of the school of her choice
A school COP 258
B school COP 256

1st choice: B
2nd choice:A

So she will be allocate to her 1st choice straight away eventhough her 2nd choice has a higher cut off point?
Let say School A has COP of 228, base on the following 4 students. Who will get a place in School A first?

Amy scores 230 choose School A as 2nd choice
Clare scores 238 choose School A as 3rd choice
John scores 228 choose School A as 1st choice
Ken scores 231 choose School A as 1st choice

Choice doesn't matter. The one with the higher t score will get his/her place first.

So the system will on-hold John's 1st choice for School A, till allocate all the place to Clare, Ken and Amy? If there is balance of place then only allocate to John?
Lets clear some misunderstanding on this topic. Remind all forumers tat the first statement about the Sch has COP of XXX is juz historical info as a guide. The Sch doesnt pre-set any COP. Think of it as the MOE supercomputer first ranks all nationwide students by T-score in descending order, then processes No.1 student's first choice. Only after posting No.1 student to his school will the computer process No.2 student. It is completely based on merit, meaning the n+1 student must wait for the n student to be posted before it is his turn. So even if the n+1 student puts ABC sch as first choice, the n student who puts ABC sch as sixth choice still gets priority to be posted to ABC.
Yes, sort by Tscore first.

The highest Tscore candidate, entered first

After sorting by Tscore (in your example, above)

1) the candidate with highest Tscore 238 entered first, then followed by

2) the next (2nd) candidate with 231, then

3) the 3rd candidate with 230, then

4) finally, the last candidate with 228

(whatever their names are)

So if the candidate with 238, she got a place in her 1st choice. (School A is her 3rd choice)
So this candidate will drop out from the system vying in School A lo? Then other candidate who wants School A will have higher chance?

Sorry, I don't quite understand what u are asking

The basic underlying principle is
Under Tscore system -
Whoever has the Highest Tscore, will enter your School A first, before any others, because T-score is based on Merit.

The choice of ranking, doesn't come into play, under Tscore
That is also provided that the candidates with tscore with 238 did not get in to her 1st or 2nd choice of her sch. Then she will be in the advantage in getting School A

It will allocate one by one based on t-score, starting from the highest. After allocated schools for 238, 231, 230... and finally reach 228, if there is place remaining, it will allocate 228 (Ken)'s first choice to School A, otherwise it will look at Ken's second choice (e.g., School B). If got place, allocate B, if not, it will look at Ken's third choice School C, etc. etc. Once Ken has been allocated a school, the system will go to the next person e.g., 227.

Basically, it is merit over choice between students. The system will allocate school to the highest t scorer, then the second highest, and then the third highest, going down the list.

Her second choice sch MIGHT NOT have a higher COP in the CURRENT year. The COP was for previous years, and no school pre-sets the COP for this year.
Lets say XYZ school plans to take in 280 students. The current year's COP for XYZ school will be the Tscore of the 280th admitted student.

came across a listing on affiliated JCs to some secondary schools…I wonder what differences would that make for a secondary school with an affiliated JC as compared to one that has none? Is that an important consideration?

Does anyone know if MGS IB accepts student from another IP school during Y3 admission? What is the rate of admission? And what is the number of students from MGS O levels successfully transferred to IB at Y3?
Yes they do accept students from other IP schools. Interview, essay and academic results.
