I am not surprised : ) My daughter’s sec sch frens are all aiming for EJC, used to be just NYJC, ACJC, SAJC, RI etc Now it is literally just EJC.
I brought my son to CatHigh for a looksee. He was okok there. Then we drove passed EJC, his comments were “Woah! OMG! WTH! Siao!” lol

EJC has a nice view of the park.
VJC has a nice view of the sea.

But EJC is all brand spanking new!
True... but VJC uniform wins hands down

Since there have been questions on ESIS, can I also clarify how 261 was derived? Is it the top 1/3 of the top 10% of cohort?

Currently fam split on these 2 schools
2 says VS/VJ
2 says CHS/EJ
2 doesn’t wanna be involved
The Victorians are bringing out everything to sway the votes.
I will personally drive ds2 pass EJC today again lol
No matter what, the neutral parties will hv to vote latest by tonight though.
Maybe you should do a straw poll online :rotflmao:

Victoria thy sons are we, and we will not forget
Good job by those 2 past / present Victorians.

Hi,

My dd has done well such that he is able to opt for HCI. I'm happy for him but I'm worried about the journey to and fro school every day for the next 6 years. We are staying in Jurong West and he can also choose RV which is so much nearer. However he is so firm on his decision. I told him the pros and cons and he needs to learn to be responsible for his own decisions.

But still I am worried if he is able to cope with more subjects, long travel time and a fiercely competitive environment compared to his primary school.

Parents, do you have any advice or stories to share. Thanks 🙂
Hi, just to share a bit, I’m staying at JW and I have a DD currently studying in NYGH and a DS opting for HCI also. Back then when my DD wanted to opt for NYGH, I also shared the same worry as you, but it’s just a matter of time for them to get used to the traveling and it is rather manageable after getting used to the traveling back and forth. More importantly, the school has been enriching for her and the experience is good so I think that wins over the worry of the journeying to and fro school. The environment would be more competitive but it is still manageable.
Thank you so much for sharing 🙂

Same same sentiments as smileplease & floppy.

If you let him, it’ll probably give him a boost of independence & yes, good that you’ve highlighted he shld be responsible for his decision. I’m sure he'll live up to the challenge as his wings spread. Picture him springing out of bed early mornings to meet his teachers & friends, eager to get on the bus early to get to school. Hv faith in your child!

Thank you so much for your advice and encouragement:)

Hi,

Any idea on how did the 2019 cohort do in Science. Seeing too few a A* in Science (here and there). There were a lot more A* in English and Maths though the papers were considered difficult and a lot of them were stunned after exiting the exam hall.

A lot of them in my DD's class unexpectedly scored A* in English and Maths. Looked the aggregate scores were skewed towards those kids who did well in these 2 subjects.

Any knowledge on this...

This year (2019), A * for Maths :

dropped to 85 or 86,
after adjustment (moderation), to the entire PSLE cohort (thousands of children), with the Pattern questions ?
