Number of places available in independent schools etc.

As for cohort size, I think 40k students took the PSLE.

Rudimentary question. For comparison, how the 2019 cohort did overall,

1) What is the ESIS cut-off? The top one-third is based on how many independent school places? Do we include SSS, SST, SOTA etc?

2) What is the cut-off for 10% of the cohort offered Cat C third language?

Can someone who has it list down 2019 vs 2018 vs 2017?

We do not live near HCI either, and commute takes about 50 minutes with a fair bit of walking. Many people think TKK station is at HCI's door step - but it is really a pretty long walk for High School kids (most do not walk - they take a bus to Sixth Avenue station).

The HCI experience has been very positive so far

There is an option to board for up to a year in Sec 3.
You may like to call the boarding school to ask if it is possible to board (a number of Malaysian, Chinese students board, as well as Singaporean students whose parents are working overseas.)

Criteria is based on top 1/3 of students eligible for independent schools (not IP schools). Not based on being posted.

So, if there are 1800 IS places across Singapore, the cutoff is based on the top 600 students. Based on eligibility only and not on whether they take up the place, IP or non-IP, PR or not etc.

How does one define eligibility for independent schools? So ESIS is also applicable to O level track in an independent school?

based on Timmei13 choices, i think she stay east, hence St Nick is very far for her daughter in Ang Mo Kio.
Thus, she didn't choose St Nick (IP)

you can consider swap your order, around
Put SCGS (IP), before TJC

Once your girl enter SCGS (IP) successfully, no need to select St Nick (IP) anymore, because come Year 5,
whether come from SCGS or from St Nick, all will join the same Eunoia JC

unless you are saying that, u feel more comfortable with Temasek JC (IP), because no matter what, TJC A-level curriculum had been there existing for many years, while EJC only gone through first-maiden batch A-level last year (2018), hence more prudent

And

TJC is much nearer your house, more convenient, perhaps u stay opposite TJC

There are other schools we know

School was omitted (to the tune of a very loud growl) subsequently.
Never get to study by the sea though, unless I go BBQ or cycling... school was just too far away

I can also remember my primary school song (but not my JC anthem :scratchhead: )

Singaporeans only.[/quote]Thanks... I just wonder how 261 is derived. Is my understanding correct? If there are X number of places in the independent IP schools, the top X number of Singaporean students with the highest T-scores will be eligible for ESIS. Correct?
